I like writing about small individual habits and traits that may have a much bigger consequence. Something as silly as calling names can scar a person for life. A casual remark may affect someone deeply.
This story is about peer pressure among young kids. A group of teenage girls, in an age of smartphones and internet, talk about the necessity of having a boyfriend, buying a mobile phone, and just have a life.
Having a life can have different meaning for different people, right?
Neha withstands the pressure but then succumbs to the temptation of having a winning argument. She makes up stories about her fake ‘mature, adult, handsome’ boyfriend to stop the nagging. Little does she know that her imaginary boyfriend was not as imaginary and constant stream of thoughts about him will eventually get to her.
The story is more suitable for Indian readers. I am not saying others cannot read it. But Indians can relate to it better.
