Six months into year 2018

This year has been rewarding so far. I started pursuing the life long dream of writing. I am writing a lot this year.

And I am reading a lot, a lot more than I write.

Well, I have been reading since I was six. And books is all I have, after I’m done with the day job and household chores, of course.

I have discovered the world of Goodreads. As I am now tracking my reading progress, I know just how much I have been reading, and had been reading.

My reading challenge for 2018 is to read 80 books. I have finished 70 books. And that accounts only those books that are on Goodreads. It is such a great feeling when I finish a book and pen the review. I wish I had a job which pays me to read books. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

I have made some good friends on social media. I wasn’t a big fan, but my sentiments towards social media has changed drastically.

I have moved my DIY and crocheting posts to a separate site.

I got my first book published in Urdu titled “Uff Yeh Ladki“. It was followed by publishing the same in Devanagari. The Hindi edition is doing really well through Kindle Unlimited. Another story in English “A Journey to Remember” is also published and is available on Kindle eBooks. A themed collection of quirky, witty, tongue-in-cheek flash stories that ends with a lingering thought – The walls are too thin is also getting luke-warm response.

I am also translating one Urdu suspense thriller series “Al-muqtadir” for my publisher. The first episode is live on Kindle.

I hope my literary journey continues, more fulfilling and more successful.

Happy Reading!

Shabana Mukhtar

ehehehe. Bills and rent must be paid.

  2. Yep. Crocheting, sewing, and writing – these are the other side of me. The ‘me’ has a day job that pays my rent and bills 🙂

Hi, Shabana! Glad to know you’ve had a good year so far! I wish you an ever better second half and a lot more success to go with it! I promise I will read your new novella soon as I’m able! And you crochet too? How COOL! Followed you there ;D I didn’t make a separate blog for my sewing. It’s all crammed into one site. Ehehee.
