The Family Favorite, and moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania, at age eleven. Synopsis

Plot:
The book continues the journey of Andy Sachs a decade after she quit her Runway job.
Review:
Don’t let the title fool you. There is no revenge.
There, I said it, which I should have kept for later. But, I so wanted the review to start with it.
Moving on, I took notes as I read, which was 8.5 days.
Let’s KISS – keep it short and simple, then.
-> It was quite long and drags a bit.
-> I think, and I may be wrong, the movie would have been better because a picture is worth a thousand words and imagine a two hour long movie converted to like a billion of words.
Not feeling well, doctors appointment and STD tests, really? Why not a simple home pregnancy test? About 35% when she finally finds out, it mentions that
You suspected it all along. The nausea, the irregular periods, the aches and heaviness and general misery. You knew, Andy, but you couldn’t deal with it.
Meh! The STD tests still seem a bit much to me.
-> Max met his ex during his bachelor party and did not tell Andy. Andy is upset, a little too upset, in my opinion.
-> The story goes back and forth from what happened with the characters in the previous instalment and the eventful present. I would have liked to read it chronologically, starting from where it left off. That’s my choice, though.
Also, in doing so, a lot of details are repeated over and again – Andy quitting, Lily moving, Alex dumping Andy… It stretches the already very long book.
I am sure the revenge part will come, soon.
-> After the flashbacks reduce in number, it is about the pregnancy.
Then about the takeover offer from Elias-Clark, which is stretched and stressed upon.
Another sub-plot is introduced with the new-mom group.
Then she runs into Christian who flirts with her openly. Then she runs into Alex, has coffee with him, eats breakfast with him. But, does she tell Max about it? No.
Uff!!!
Where is the revenge, I ask.
-> Chapter 19 where Andy and Emily are eating dinner with Miranda. One second Miranda is sipping latte the next page she’s drinking wine. I am no expert but I have never read that before.
-> Then it’s baby’s day all the parents and babies under one roof. Andy’s Alex is Sophie’s Xander. Wow!
-> Then, things go downhill, like literally. Emily and Max go behind Andy’s back and sign the deal, selling ‘The Plunge’ to the Prada wearing devil.
-> One year later, Andy and Alex are back together. SPOILER! 😛
-> The whole revenge thing had got me hooked. It is not in about revenge.
