Top 10 | Pakistani Actors Who Know How to Romance

After watching Paskitani dramas for close to eight years, I have realized that some actors stand out when it comes to romance. These are all terrific actors, but romance suits them, almost as if they are made to romance.

10. Adnan Siddiqui

The list can’t NOT have Adnan Siddiqui in it. In Mere Humdum Mere Dost, he plays Haidar, an older man who befriends younger Aiman, and ends up falling in love with her. From Maat, to Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar to Ahista Ahista, he never stops surprising you. The way he emotes and expresses his feelings is unmatched. He doesn’t play romantic leads any more, but man is he good at romancing women.

9. Imran Ashraf

Adam from Mushk is the perfect hero any girl would want. And the credit goes to Imran Ashraf’s portrayal of Adam. I had first seen him in Dil Lagi playing a second lead, but he was quite a charmer. The last two episodes of Mushk were pure gold in terms of romance.

8. Usman Mukhtar

From Dr Haris in Sabaat to Aswad in Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay, Usman Mukhtar can win a woman’s heart with just his smile. I agree, both these roles were kinda trash, but that doesn’t stop Usman Mukhtar from featuring in this list. He’s so good-looking, and so so talented.

7. Humayun Saeed

Humayun Saeed is Murtaza in Bin Roye Aansoo, Mohid in Dil Lagi, and he has played several second-chances in various other dramas. Whether he is playing the main lead or has a guest appearance, the man has an aura that can just win your heart. He is very unconventionally handsome hero, and simply redefines romance.

6. Zahid Ahmad in Besharam

Zahid Ahmad and his voice can tickle you, like literally. The drama Besharam, and the actor Zahid Ahmad, both are so so romantic.

5. Ahad Raza Mir in Ehd-e-Wafa

“Tum hamesha yahan rahogi, mere dil mein,” Sa’ad tells Dua.

Whether it is Sa’ad in Ehd-e-Wafa or Arman in Yeh Dil Mera or Dr Asfand in Yaqeen Ka Safar, Ahad Raza Mir’s vulnerabaility and good looks makes him one of the best actor as a romancer.

4. Hamza Ali Abbasi

From Afzal in Pyaare Afzal to Qalb-e-Momin in Alif, Hamza Ali Abbasi has always been a treat to watch when it comes to romance. His intense eyes, the frown on his handsome face, and his killer smile; how can women not fall in love with this man?

3. Bilal Abbas Khan

Bilal Abbas is not just a handsome face; he is also a talented actor. Abdullah in Pyaar Ke Sadqay is one of the most lovable characters ever. And that drama was one of the sweetest love stories ever.

2. Ahmad Ali Akbar

Be it Zaki in Yeh Raha Dil or Shahryar in Ehd-e-Wafa, this man is so charming, and he can easily charm you with his looks and his talent. When he looks at  the heroine, it looks like he is yearning for her. It ain’t easy to convey that, is it? His confession to Hayat (Yumna Zaidi) is one of the sweetest and most memorable romance moments I have ever seen on screen. So gooood!

1. Fawad Khan

From playing Zaroon Junaid, one of the most enviable husbands ever in Zinadgi Gulzar Hai, to Ashar Hussain in Humsafar, from Vikram Singh Rathore in Khoobsurat to Jamal Ahmad in Behadd, Fawad Khan just knows how to woo a woman. Nobody does romance better than him.

Honourable Mentions

Farhan Saeed was so charming as Arsal in Suno Chanda. In current drama, Mere Humsafar, he plays Hamza, a very kind-hearted and might I add handsome, cousin of Haala. If he is given an out-n-out romantic role, he would nail it.

Feroze Khan, although he plays very intense roles, I’m sure he can do great. I liked the romantic bits in Ishqiya.

Ali Rehman Khan as Shams in Laapata had just killed it with Falak. What a romance it was. I’m sure Badshah Begum will show us more of his romantic chops.

Who is your favourite on-screen hero? Am I missing someone?
