Drama Review | Parizaad | Episode 16

Parizaad, the HUM TV drama is based on Hashim Nadeem’s novel of the same name. For brief summary of the novel and my review of the same, read here.

Parizaad episode 16 in a nutshell

Let’s quickly cover a few basic plot points of this episode.

Badar Muneer asks her subordinates to break Parizaad’s spirits in the torture cell.

But Parizaad is a loyal man. He endures all the pain but utters not a single word against Behroz Kareem. He doesn’t accept the offer to be the prosecution’s witness. We know this will win Behroz Kareem forever.

Jaanu, the sweet friend of Parizaad’s comes to visit in the police station.

Badar Muneer is trying to convince Parizaad to speak the truth, but Parizaad confesses of killing Waleed and Laila Saba to avenge his insults. Now, that gets Behroz Kareem his bail and Laila Saba’s case is closed.

Badar Muneer isn’t willing to let go. The investigations are still on. And then Badar Muneer gets the proof she needed.

The episode ends as Parizaad’s life is set to take a new turn. What that is, we all know. But let’s wait for the next episode for the big reveal. Or you can always read the novel’s review I mentioned at the beginning of this post.

The performances

Noman Ejaz… My goodness… So handsome and so talented. The way he reminisces about Laila Saba… So touching… And the arrest scene… Too good…

Ahmad Ali Akbar is okay, but he hasn’t impressed as much as he has so far. I guess I have become immune to his flawless performance. Haha!

I still feel that Nadia Afghan’s talent is wasted in her role as Badar Muneer. She doesn’t have much room to perform.
