It is a series set to narrate disjoint stories, highlighting the small issues that often tend to ignore. Does that sound familiar? Read this.
The story is written by Misbah Nosheen. It is directed by Angeline Malick and is being aired on Hum TV.
The second story is complete and here is my review for the same.
Episode 1 Plot Summary
First episode reveals the nine characters and their relationships.
Akash (Mohsin Abbas Haider) lives with his parents (Hina Dilpazeer and Shahood Alvi) and younger sister Bella. They are a perfect and loving family.
Pari (Ushna Shah) lives with her parents, brother Umair and sister-in-law Samia.
The two families are 180 degrees apart.
Akash and Pari are married and Pari is obsessed with the idea of a love marriage. She boldly, though stupidly, tells Akash the same when they meet for the first time on the wedding night. Who does that?
Mohsin is phenomenal. The way he emotes her love through his eyes is awesome. Ushna is a terrific actress. I felt she has done more pouting than was needed. Also her makeup was loud for the character.
Hina dilpazeer and abba are amazing.
Episode 2 Plot Summary
The second episode shows Pari adamant and stupidly fixated on getting divorce and that nobody will say a word to her. then we again see the stark difference between the two families. It is not just Pari’s father. Her brother is following the footsteps. They both leaves no opportunity to embarass their wives. Pari’s mother acuses Samia that she is jealous of Pari’s good luck. That family is seriously damaged. The shopping scene is hilarious. The gol-gappa scene is hialrious and mouth watering.
Mohsin shines once again.
Episode 3 Plot Summary
The third episode continues to show the miserable Akash and adamant Pari. Akash brings Pari’s dresses to her house and runs into her brother later. That scene is to die for. It is hilarious, and a bit heart-breaking to see Akash pretend to hate Pari, fumble as he speaks, struggle to come up with insulting words and petrified of the confrontation. Seriously, you rock Mohsin.
The families meet. Pari’s family demonstrates their mean behaviour by insulting the women of the house.
“Mohabbat ke baghair jeena aasan hai, lekin izzat ke bina nahin.”
The court scene and the smile on Mohsin’s face is so cute. The only sensible person in Pari’s family is Samia, who tries to knock some sense in her stubborn head.
Episode 4 Plot Summary
The fourth episode is about patching up and a bit sugary. Samia plays the cupid – between the couple and the families. Both the families know the whole fight was a drama by Akash, and that now Pari has different feelings for Akash. Akash knows it, too. Pari, however, is still the ever-confused and has not confessed her new-found liking to Akash.
There are some sweet acts put together by both families of pretending to be loud and vile to each other.
The last scene is outside the court. Pari refuses to sign the papers and everybody knows everything.
And they live happily ever after.
Is it the same house that was used in Dil Mom Ka Diya?
I applaud the attempt at highlighting the stupidity of the girl. Most of the time, the dramas show girls as victims. This one sheds light from a different angle. I am not saying that Pari was a villain, but then she had one little flaw and that pained Akash.
Akash is always wearing the same kurta pajama at night. I like that consistency.
Overall, it was enjoyable. I liked this story and execution better than the first one. Do we have more in the series? We will need to wait and watch.
