Plot Summary & Commentary

Husn-e-Jahan asks Sultan to fabricate news of her death, just so she could be with Momin.

Sultan isn’t on-board with the idea but relents, for he can never say no to her.

And, then she disappears.

(I don’t recall this scene from the novel)

The police never finds her body but Husn-e-Jahan was dead for Pakistan. Sultan tells Momina that he never found out who Husn-e-Jahan remarried. Can I tell you? Can I? Please?

Oh, I have already said that before – master Ibrahim.

Qalb-e-Momin is on retrospection mode. With the newfound truth, he starts to visualize his past in a different light.

Momina rewrites the script.

That scene in Qalb-e-Momin’s office goes without a dialogue for a couple of minutes and is the essence of the relationship between Qalb-e-Momin and Momina.

Then he speaks and boy is he upset.

And, then he mentions the name – master Ibrahim. And, that he cannot find his address. Bhai, Momina hai na.

But, no. She is so overwhelmed that she doesn’t tell him. She just leaves. Kyu bhai?

She reminisces her conversation with Husn-e-Jahan. Master Ibrahim, I mean Saifi Hassan steals the show again. He’s so good. I wonder how he does it. I don’t have this level of admiration for anyone. All actors, no matter how legendary they are, overact a bit. But not this man, never.

I digress.

So, Momina had sold Husn-e-Jahan’s paintings to master Ibrahim in the past when she was struggling to get money for Jehangir’s treatment.

Momina meets Master Ibrahim. He gifts her the ayat the painting that Abdul Alaa had gifted Husn-e-Jahan.

Then he repeats his words: every secret is an amanat.
