Alright, let’s begin the review of the latest and the last episode of Sabaat (episode 28). It aired on October 25, 2020.
Plot Summary
This episode begins with the Karachi festival. Yasir is praising his team. Anaya responds to his promotion offer. Remember the scene from the trailer where Anaya throws papers on Yasir’s face? Yes, that. The confrontation was a little over the top. Just saying, especially with the background music. Anaya resigns. I told you, no? She should have continued with her baking business.
Meeral is still the same. She humiliates Haris, yet again. On the way back, Ali’s lack of focus results in a road accident, something I had been expecting for a while now. Her spinal cord is damaged, but we hear nothing about Ali. He was right next to her in the car. At least a sentence should have been included about him, no? Ekdum side character bana diya.
Haris tells Meeral about the afterlife. I don’t know how I feel about this. Whatever Meeral has done, is too much. Once accident, one apology, and that’s all? No. I have said repeatedly that Meeral’s action leave no arc for redemption. I don’t know why Haris is still living with Meeral.
We see a much-awaited face-off between Hassan and Anaya. But Anaya does contemplate forgiving him. Meeral meets her, takes full blame for whatever happened and convinces her to take the final decision.
Wait, Hassan was at fault. True, Meeral plotted against Anaya; Atif helped her but Hassan should have some effing brains of his own, no?
Anyway, they live happily ever after, prettily ever after.

When Hassan beats Atif. Much deserved.

Parting Thoughts
- I have a bone to pick. Why didn’t Jehangir get a good closure? We see what happens to Yasir, and Atif; they both get the lashing they deserve.
- Meeral switches between ‘aap’ and ‘tum’ for Haris. Be consistent, girl!
- Usman Mukhtar is very very handsome. What lovely voice he has.
- Sara Khan has done a fabulous job to be hateable. Kudos!
- Mawra Hocane as Anaya has been consistently stealing the show episode after episode.
- I don’t much like the resolution, but overall a nice drama; especially the adoption of Mohammad Ali.
- Wardrobe of this drama is to die for. Whether it was Meeral’s western attires or Anaya’s traditional dresses, very modest and very stylish.
