Hum Tum Episode 29 Written Update & Review

Neha and Adam are BFF now

Neha and Adam’s friendship is going strong. Since he’s in love, he takes the responsibilities to settle everything that Neha’s family night need. He’s taking full charge of Neha’s engagement’s arrangements, he’s suggesting Ulfat to get a make-over, he’s helping Ulfat to learn how to cook.

Speaking of the make-over, it was the most mellow make-over ever. I mean, her outfit was just the same, a kurta with very nice print bit too loose and too unflattering. Only her hair has changed: pehle do lat bahar latakti thhi, ab saare baal khule hain. Don’t get me wrong, Arjumand Raheem looks pretty no matter what. I didn’t expect her to look like how she looked in Ghisi Piti Mohabbat, because that was a different kinda role she was playing, but I expected more from the make-over.

Maha is a changed person

Maha is making some big changes in Sultan house as well. She not only makes Sultan go to the restaurant but also makes Sarmad takes his classes very seriously. Sarmad’s first day at the college was quite funny. It was the same old trope of student mistaking Sarmad as their professor, but it was Sarmad’s reaction that made it funnier. Also, Maha is learning a thing or two about keeping things in place. She puts the pillows back in its place. It was a nice little touch to remind us that she is adjusting with her new family now.

Sultan’s greed, argh

This episode had its own share of slight conflict as Sultan talks about his expectations of a hefty cash amount from Qutbuddin. Maha overhears this, bringing some awkwardness and coldness between the newlyweds, but things soon resolve when Maha tells Sarmad that Qutbuddin has transferred 20 lakhs to her account.

This episode also had a breaking the fourth wall joke like Chaudhry and Sons. Sarmad asks Adam if he can even spell his name, and Ahad says: Ahad. Liked it.

While this is all fun, Adam’s vulnerability stands out throughout the episode. Ahad Raza Mir has single-handedly elevated this drama’s level to a new high. Hum Tum has suddenly become more interesting.

What do I expect from episode 30 and the finale episode

  • Neha will realize that she just might have feelings for Adam, and as Adam said, “Itna bhi bura nahin hoon main.”
  • Now, Neha will be torn between her heart’s desires and her life-long want to get Qutbuddin’s approval. She wants to be the obedient daughter that nobody thinks she would ever be.
  • Maha and Neha will talk, Maha will ask her younger sibling to go with what her heart wants, but Neha would be the ultimate “qurbani ki misaal”. She would never say a word just because Qutbuddin is happy to see her with Sarim bin Jabar.
  • Qutbuddin will overhear the conversation between Neha and Maaha.
“Saari umr abba ne humein taane diye hain. Main un pe sabit karna chahti hoon ki betiyan kitna eesaar kar sakti hain,” Neha will say. “Main aur Adam, hum dono ek dusre ke liye bane hi nahin thhe.”
    That will change Qutbuddin’s heart.
  • And viola, Adam will replace Sarim on the stage.

Of course, this is all my imagination. Let’s see if any of it is true. I can’t wait to see today’s episode.
