Let’s review the latest episode of Qissa Meherbano Ka. It’s based on Fakhra Jabeen’s short story Ujalon Ki Basti. You can read the story here, and my review is here. The drama is quite different from the story itself, so don’t be disheartened by my review even if it has some spoilers.

A little recap of episode 14

So, Mehrbano is preggos and Murad is uncertain if he is the father. He does what is expected of him – run a paternity test. Back home, Mehran learns that Murad is torturing Mehrbano because of him. It is time to make a decision.

Qissa Meherbano Ka Episode 15 Written Review

So, Mehran agrees to marry the girl that Zehreeli Chachi has chosen. He is doing it only for Mehrbano. Once he is married, Zehreeli Chachi and Murad both will hopefully be quiet. I hope…just hope…

We see one of the best scene of Mehris the conversation between Mehrbano and Ayaz. Ayaz has a pistol and Noor tells Mehrbano. Bas Mehrbano loses her calm. Whatever she has been holding up for so long, it all comes out.

“I am here only for two reasons my child and you. J could have left this place but j dint wamt to go without you. You’re my strength, my courage, my maan,” Mehrbano says.

Ayaz nearly breaks down and tries hard to keep his emotions in check while Mehrbano is vulnerable. This scene is probably my favourite and most powerful scene of this drama. Mawra is so good, but Khushhal Khan steals the show in this scene. This young guy is very talented.

Murad has done the paternity test and is now celebrating… Tch… Mehrbano is as upset as could be. The best thing is that Fari hears about the paternity test, and leaves the house. About time, huh?

It was a little while ago when I learned that Qissa Mehrbano Ka is based on Fakhra Jabeen’s novel Ujalon Ki Basti. Naturally, I read the story. The story is much darker and shorter, but there is one small subplot that made me wince. I had hoped that the screen adaptation would skip it, it didn’t. Murad is just an awful man who only has lust on his mind. This episode ends as Noor finds Mehrbano in the bathroom in a seemingly disturbing state.

Kya ab Ayaz ko josh aayega? Aa hi jaye ab…

 

What to expect from episode 16?

I want to see more of Ayaz and Noor. Their chemistry is so electric. That little scene in the kitchen when Noor makes tea for Ayaz is so cute. I want to see more of them.
