Parizaad had a unique story told in a gripping narrative. It’s the performances, however, that make it special. Ahmed Ali Akbar is a fine actor, but he has outdone himself in and as Parizaad.
There are a few nuances of the character that make Parizaad despite his supposedly “ugly” looks.
Whether Parizaad is walking or sitting, he slouches. It tells us that his inferiority doesn’t let him keep his shoulders square.
Walking with his arms to his side
Parizaad keeps his arms to his side when he walks, which is almost unnatural. When I was little, someone once told me that my arms move too much when I walk. For several days to come, I had tried to walk without moving my arms. It’s not possible. Okay, so it is possible, but it takes a lot of effort, a LOT of effort.
When Parizaad walks with his arms to his side, it gives us an impression of a man who’s restrained in boundaries. This gives us more insight of him as a person.
Cranking his neck
He cranks his neck when he’s thinking.
Batting his eyes rapidly
When he’s talking to girls, he bats his eyes rapidly. It’s as if he’s uncomfortable talking to girls.
Wrinking his nose when he smiles
The Parizaad team has done a fabulous job with his looks. His haircut makes him look like a simpleton, his dark complexion makes him relatable to so many of us, and his rabit teeth makes his smile more adorable. When he smiles, he wrinkles his nose a little, as if he is too shy to smile. That just adds to Parizaad’s charms.
