Drama Review | Qissa Meherbano Ka | Episode 9

Let’s review the latest episode of Qissa Meherbano Ka. It’s based on Fakhra Jabeen’s short story Ujalon Ki Basti. You can read the story here, and my review is here. The drama is quite different from the story itself, so don’t be disheartened by my review even if it has some spoilers.

Let’s start with episode 9.

Qissa Meherbano Ka Episode 9 Written Review

Fari goes out to seek financial help from her brother, who puts his foot down and refuses to pay any single paisa. He even suggests that Fari should leave Murad.

I like how Fari and khadoos aunty bond. This is one-of-a-kind saas-bahu jodi. They aren’t after each other; they have joined the forces against Mehrbano.
Why is Achhe Miyan after Mehr? He seems pretty straight when he does that. Ayaz stands up for Mehrbano. I like how their khala-bhanja relationship is depicted. Mawra looks haseen in every scene, and her portrayal of Mehrbano is spot on. She is the perfect choice to play the meek and weak woman. This is a surprise change from Sabaat. From a strong woman to a vulnerable one, this is a nice choice. I know the novel’s story, so I know she isn’t as helpless as she seems. Oh, don’t you know the story yet? You can read my review here and the story here.
Noor and Mehran have a different track altogether. Mehran is tutoring Noor, and Mehran’s mother zehreeli chachi doesn’t like it. She’s such a venomous woman. She spills all her poison on Noor. Noor is upset, and rightly so. She takes off her frustration on Abba Miyaan. Poor Abba Miyaan! He was unnecessarily strict but now he’s at the receiving end of unnecessary anger. Areej acts well in this scene. Noor is a moody person, and Areej plays it well.
Zaviyaar is so handsome… Mehran’s character doesn’t give him much room to perform but this boy has the charm, and his eyes are so expressive. If he gets the right role, he will really shine.

So long!
