Synopsis
A tyrant by day, a playboy by night. That is the reputation that precedes Richard VanRyan. He lives life the way he wants, no concern for the opinion of others. He cares for no one, is completely unrepentant, and he has no desire to change his ways.
Katharine Elliott works under Richard as his PA. She despises him and his questionable ethics, but endures all the garbage he sends her way, because she needs the job. Her end goal is far more important than the daily abuse and demands she tolerates from her nasty tyrant of a boss.
Until the day, he asks her for something she never expected. A new role with a personal contract — fiancée instead of PA.
What happens when two people who loathe each other, have to live together and act as though they are madly in love?
Sparks.
That’s what happens.
Can the power of love really change a person?
Will they survive the contract?
What do you do when the one person you hate the most becomes the one person you can’t live without?

Ask for a contract marriage novel and that’s what I got, after a week of scrolling through the titles.
Plot & Review
Plot:
The story is about Richard who needs to change his Playboy’s image to get his dream job, and Katherine who needs money to make sure her foster parent Penny gets the best treatment and care.
Review:
The background sets the perfect beginning for a contract marriage.
Katy is troubled and she has been though so much that it breaks my heart, even though I know it is a fictional character and fictional story. Richard has had his fair share of sadness through his childhood, and that’s why he is the sort of person he is. Our past and upbringing determines who we become.
Richard is detailed, and too generous, when he drafts the contract of their fake relationship. His generosity is justified by the fact that he wants Katy to look the part. Still, a new car, an engagement ring, whole new wardrobe, a bank account with enough funds and a salary of ten thousand dollars on top of it, seems a bit much. His employer Gavin, and his family, at times seem too nosy.
Their relationship changes gradually as Richard grows as a person and slowly fall for the soft, loving and caring nature of his wife Katy.
Once they both realize and admit their love for each other, the reader is happy to read is an almost perfect contract marriage story.
But, the story doesn’t end there. The chapters that follow are repetitive as both announce their love for each other over and over again.
If it wasn’t for the last few chapters, it was a five star read. A nice read nonetheless.
