Non-review Rant
I have read a short romantic story by the author and had enjoyed the quick read and cute story. I decided to read more. This is part of my ‘read the same author’ spree. This is the fourth and last book by Sundari, that I read during the readathon. I will pick another desi author next. Any suggestions?
Plot & Review
Plot:
The story is about how an arranged marriage turns out to be a love marriage, with bits of drama and tragedy thrown in.
Review:
Short, quick, romantic, Bollywood like, fun, fluffy, cheesy… These are some of the tags I would use to describe the book.
Sunita and Akshayboth are unwilling to get married but their parents’ incessant badgering convinces them to at least meet each other, once. Akshay, however, goes to see her outside her class and is smitten instantly. He, therefore, proposes a three year contract marriage and promises that Sunita can lead the life of her dreams; as he and his family is quite open minded.
They start seeing each other and fall for each other. The chemistry is good and you can visualize how they gradually become Of each other. The drama – Sunita’s father suddenly becoming the mean guy and then suddenly realizing his mistakes – was not believable, for me.
Of all the books I have read by the author, this one’s writing felt plain in a few places. Apart from that, a nice quick read.
