Book Review: AJEEB AAWAAZAIN (Jasoosi Duniya #18 By Ibn-e-Safi)

First up, let’s remember this legend author who was born on 26th July 1928 and died on 26th July 1980. It isn’t too late.  After long time, I return to review Jasoosi Duniya novels. This one’s for #18. During engagement party of a rich girl, the groom (Shahid) is killed by bride’s (Aliya) dog; a big knife is found on one of the Aliya’s former candidates (Saeed) and several others are suspected. Let’s review another murder mystery.

Plot Summary

The story begins with a telegram from Faridi to Hameed who was enjoying his vacation. Hameed’s reaction, his train journey, and his antiques with fellow passengers is vrey entertaining, until the “investigations” begin.

During engagement party of a rich girl, the groom (Shahid) is killed by bride’s (Aliya) dog; a big knife is found on one of the Aliya’s former candidates (Saeed) and several others are suspected.

Review

Why  did Aliya bring her dog to the party?

Why was Saeed invited?

Why does Major Daud, Aliya’s uncle hate everyone?

The story unfolds and answers these questions. Although the beginning and premise was interesting, the investigation spirals into many complexities; some of them felt forced and unnecessary. Ending. However, it did show a strong bond between Hameed and Faridi; and that sometimes Hameed is very sharp and brave. It is this bromance that keeps me hooked to Jasoosi Duniya.

That concludes the review for Ajeeb Awazein – the 18th story  of Jasoosi Duniya. What do others feels about this one?
