Kaala Doriya | Episode 22

Introduction

Saima Akram Chaudhry and Danish Nawaz–the writer and director duo who gave us gems like Chupke Chupke (I quite liked it) and Hum Tum (it was hit-n-miss). This duo now brings us another romantic comedy Kaala Doriya.

Kaala Doriya is story of two families who despise each other. The guy and the girl, especially can’t tolerate each other. When they fall in love, all hell breaks loose. Will they be able to cross the hurdles thrown their way by family or will they power through to come together as one? Watch Kaala Doriya to find out.

Drama Kaala Doriya Episode 22 Written Update and Review

Amma Bi & Abba Miyan

Saleeqa Begum and Nida are discussing the girl they have chosen for Asfi, and they are both against the idea of Asfi-and-Mahnoor. Amma Bi overhears the conversation. The talks about it, but interrupted by Abba Miyan.  Abba Miyan doesn’t like how the two women (Saleeqa Begum and Nida) treated Amma Bi. He asks Amma Bi to come over and stay with him at Shuja’s house. Amma Bi agrees. To my surprise, Tanno welcomes Amma Bi openly. Her words might be bitter, but she’s good at heart–aren’t they all?

Shuja and Muneer

Shuja is coming back from masjid but feels uneasy. Muneer sees him. At first, the two bicker as usual, but Muneer is Shuja’s younger brother after all. He insists and takes Shuja to the hospital. Things aren’t looking good for Shuja.

Faraz and Asfi see their father and uncle together. They also know that Shuja is not well. Shuja’s health keep Muneer up at night, worrying Saleeqa Begum. When Nida and Saleeqa Begum find out, they are also worried. This also gives Nida a chance to be mad at Faraz.

Most of the time, people in this drama fight over the petty issue–Mujhe kyun nahin bataya.

The rest of this episode was focussed on Mahnoor and Asfi. At first, Mahnoor is upset that she is not able to reach Asfi. Then, she is upset that Asfi didn’t tell her about proposal to Bubbly. Thankfully, the issue sorts itself out in the college when Gauhar and Bubbly announce that they are together. I have an issue with that, but more on that in the Review section. The real issue here is, that Asfi is hurt by Mahnoor’s question. Arrey bhai… She had a question, she asked you. Itna senti hone wali kya baat hai us mein?

Anywho… So now the hero and heroine are upset with each other.

Chalo, poli poli dholki bajao.

Review

My biggest grouse was:

  1. how quickly things escalated: in case of Abba Miyan asking Amma Bi to come over and stay with him at Shuja’s house. It was not that big a deal. I mean, Saleeqa and Nida weren’t being rude to Tabassum Begum or anything,
  2. and how quickly things are resolved: in case of Bubbly and Gauhar. They so conveniently stepped aside for the main hero and heroine to romance. I mean. Gauhar had been giving Mahnoor the “looks” ever since the first episode. And then just magically he thinks that Bubbly would be right for her. The same thing happened in Hum Tum last year. In the last episode, Qutbuddin talks Adam and says: I’m your teacher. I could see you have fallen in love with Neha. I was like, uncle, what are you talking about?

Anywho… so, rant is over now. You can go back to doing whatever you were doing.
