Kuch Ankahi is a modern day and light-hearted drama that is full of messages. The drama discusses issues relating to women’s legal & religious right to property, harassment at workplace, pressurizing girls for marriage, etc.

In Kuch Ankahi, we follow the family of Agha Ji and her three daughters Aliya, Tania, and Samia. His eldest daughter is Samia, while his youngest daughter is Tania. As a family caregiver, Aliya supports her father in handling his financial issues. In this dramatic story, you will find many twists and turns that will leave you amazed by what you are going to discover.

Kuch Ankahi Episode 5  Written Update and Review 

Shamma and Saima

The episode opens with a super emotional scene as Shammo talks to Saima. I bawled. I’m going back to Pune tomorrow and I need an excuse, any excuse to cry. It was nice to know that Shammo knows how Samia feels about marrying Saif Ur Rehman. She’s like a mother who is trying to find the best in a bucket of crap. 

Zareena and Saif Ur Rehman 

Zareena scolds Saif Ur Rehman about stepping out of the house without telling her. Later, she sits down and plans for the minimalistic wedding. Read, she wants to spend no money on her son’s wedding. This was interesting to watch 

Shagufta and her father 

Shagufta’s father isn’t fond of Saif Ur Rehman. 

“He can’t protect you,” the father says 

“And you could?” Shagufta asks. 

The question was enough to tell us that there is a story as well. Shagufta isn’t just going to be “the other woman”. She is a full-fledged character. I am excited to see that story unravel.

Sehrish and Azfar 

Azfar learns about Sehrish’s latest housing scheme. The land belongs to their mother. It causes dispute, as property matters usually do. Azfar wants to land, and Motiwala wants to give it to Sehrish. Azfar gives Sehrish a week before he sues both-his father and his sister. Sehrish isn’t to keen on creating a tiff with her brother, but things go per her wishes. 

Taniya and Agha

Agha Ji is mending his kurta when Tania comes in. She helps her father stitch a button on the kurta also tells him that she is going to Texla for 2-3 days. This was just a way to ask Agha Ji to fight the case with Shammo.

Agha Ji and Shammo 

Agha Ji does fight Tania’s case. After much back and forth, Tania gets the permission to go for her project. Little does she know that her room will be hijacked while she’s gone. 

Shakeel Makes an entry

Remember Shakeel, the guy who had sent a registry claiming his share in the ancestral house? He’s Agha Ji’s nephew and Tufail’s son, Tufail being Agha Ji’s brother . He has come to see Agha Ji and attend Samia’s wedding. The women welcome him. First Meena at the door and then the four of them. The initial conversation was just too much fun and it makes us curious about several things. Why does every one fest Tufail coming here? Why do they say that Tufail wouldn’t leave? Is there a history? If so, are we going to see that history? Shakeel is Shameless (can you hear Prajakta Koli’s “I’m shamless”?) And he doesn’t mind that he isn’t welcome in the house. He reminds Sufia of her marhoom husband Safdar. He sets camp in Tania’s room. Now, we wait to see how Tania would react to this. 

Nice acting by Adnan Samad Khan. He sounds a little bit like Gulzar from Ehd e Wafa but his character definitely has a different touch. 

Salman and Aliya

The hero and heroine have only one scene together in this episode, and it isn’t much different from their usual interaction – Aliya’s car broken down and Salman stops to help her. 

He offers Aliya to stop being each other’s enemy and extends his hand in friendship

Aliya: I have have standards about making friends. Aur main tumhein iss qabil nahin samajhati.

Salman: Tum mujhe kuchh kuchh iss qabil lagne lagi ho.

Salman and Rafi 

Rafi tells Salman about Aliya joining Sehrish for the housing scheme. This is tempting for Salman. He wants in but how is he going to do that? We will have to wait until next week.

Parmesh and Meena’s daughter

Meena has found that her daughter is making tik tok videos. She takes way the phone and forbids such acts. Parmesh, however, doesn’t mind this one bit. I think he just wants to be popular through Meena’s daughter (I don’t remember her name, I think it’s Neha). 

On the other hand, Deepak isn’t happy working for Liyaqat darzi. Whether it’s just gaali galoch or something else, we don’t know. But I have a feeling that it’s about sexual abuse. I would be happy if proven wrong. I don’t want to see such issues. Often times, it’s just gruesome and freaks me out about the evil of our society. I know it’s true but we don’t have to see every truth on screen.
