Introduction

The drama overall discusses the idea of embracing change and flying high by losing all the weight for the women of Pakistan.

Sar-e-Rah is an exceptionally well-written drama, which discusses the stories that are scattered all around us but unfortunately we tend to shy away from shedding some light over them. Sar-e-Rah will share the stories of women who are the victim of child marriages, girls who are being suffocated solely because of their gender, daughters who are unable to help their fathers as their honor will be at “stake” and a transgender who is being humiliated for his identity.

Sar-e-Rah Episode 2 Written Update & Review

The episode begins where it has ended. The female passenger in Rania’s cab announces:

“This isn’t my child.”

The passenger is Dr Muzna. She is childless and has done all the legal formalities before taking the kid. But, she is also apprehensive about her family’s reaction to her decision of adopting a baby.

We see a flashback of Muzna’s life. She is married to Amir who is probably infertile but wouldn’t agree for a treatment, and Amir’s mother who’s only purpose in life is to make Muzna’s life a living hell. Muzna has not practiced in the past four years, but since the “child talk” is getting to her, Amir allows her to practice. This also doesn’t sit well with Muzna’s saas.

Long story short, Muzna decides to adopt this baby who’s mother didn’t want the newborn.

Now, Rania and Muzna go around buy stuff for the baby.

When Muzna goes home, a new challenge awaits her. Forget Muzna’s saas. even Amir asks Muzna to leave the house with the baby.

And Muzna does.

How would her family react? We don’t know yet.

The episode ends as a social media star Rameen and her boyfriend gets into Rania’s cab. Rania’s knows of Rameen. And I’m sure she will be there with Rameen in her secret nikaah or whatever it is that Rameen has planned.

Review

This drama is aiming to address many ugly issues of our society, and I quite like that.

I like how every episode is introducing a new character and starting a new sub-plot. I can’t wait to see what the next episode brings.
