Tere Bin | Episode 38

Introduction

Tere Bin is a new drama on HAR PAL GEO (Well, it’s not that new). Here’s a snippet from Geo’s official YouTube channel.

Meerab is an ambitious and beautiful young girl who wants to pursue higher studies. Her entire world revolves around her parents and she believes in them the most. Her strong and confident personality makes her stand against social injustices around her.

On the contrary, Murtasim hails from a powerful and influential family. He respects and values the morals and traditions of his family and refuses to let the family down.

Meerab’s life takes an unexpected turn when she finds out about her family’s decision regarding her and Murtasim’s life. Meerab’s hatred towards Murtasim continues to grow as a family secret from the past resurfaces. Coming from different backgrounds and mindsets, Murtasim begins to realize Meerab’s arrogant behaviour towards him and begins to consider her a challenge for himself. On the other hand, Meerab who is used to living her life on her own terms refuses to accept Murtasim’s family traditions and unnecessary social barriers.

Soon their lives go through a series of emotional sufferings and misunderstandings where it becomes difficult for them to coexist. Despite their hatred towards each other, will Meerab and Murtasim accept their true feelings or will the dynamics of ego and self-respect force them to stay apart?

Tere Bin Episode 38 Written Update and Review

Assalam Alaikum dear readers,

This is Shabana Mukhtar, back with the review of the latest episode of “Tere Bin”. The opening of this episode was superb. Without much further ado, let’s dive in.

Murtasim & Meerub

Meerub is keeping an eye on Murtasim. She notices when he dresses up, which is “always” if you ask me. However, this time, she takes  things too far. She follows Murtasim to a house, barges in, makes accusations. Long story short, she ends up apologizing to Murtasim. We also see a lot of swoonworthy moments between them. Hearts in my eyes 🙂

I particularly liked how Murtasim held the door for Meerub and with a slight nod of his head, asker her to get in.

Also, Wahaj looked soooo handsome.

Although, when does he not?

Maryam’s Wedding

Maryam’s wedding preparations are still going on. On Meerub’s insistence, Murtasim goes to meet Anas. The address is that of a brothel. Murtasim loses his temper; even the thought of seeing his sister in such a surrounding drives her crazy. When he comes home, he asks Maryam to forget about Anas.

Meerub, of course, doesn’t take this as is. She talks to Anas, who in turn blames that Murtasim is only trying to malign his (Anas’s) name. No prizes for guessing that Meerub trusts Anas more than she trusts Murtasim.

Rant

Let’s talk about Meerub now. Meerub is impetuous. She takes hasty decisions that embarass her every time. EVERY TIME. There was that episode where Murtasim was trying to fix the “situation” by marrying off the woman to her cousin, but Meerub barged in, announcing “yeh shaadi nahin ho sakti.” Only to later realize that Murtasim had the best interest at his heart for every person who works for him. And now this. She blindly follow Murtasim, barges in and just accuses Murtasim of cheating on her. I envy how much patience Murtasim has for Meerub’s shenanigans. Every time, he

That’s not the only problem I have with Meerub. I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that she caught Maryam with Anas trying to leave the house, and she still hasn’t told Murtasim. Instead, she has promised Anas that she will help Maryam elope. Itni brainless heroine? And she wanted to pursue law? If she does become a lawyer, god bless her clients. She would end up prosecuting all of them because of her hasty and incorrect judgements. Meerub is one of the most irritating heroines I have seen, the last one was Ayesha from Habs.

Let’s not forget Maryam. She has led a priviledged life and yet has fallen madly in love with a guy she knows nothing about, except that his name is Anas (that’s not even his real name).
I son’t even want to talk about Haya. All she wants is “Murtasim”, and she doesn’t even care that an enemy (Malik Zubair) has disguised himself as Anas and is trying to hurt her family. She’s like “Meko Murtasim hona, bas, baqi jaye bhad mein”. I have had a problem with her since the first episode. I can understand why the writers are always keeping her ahead of Meerub in her scheming ways, but seriously, can we not show such evil people on screen? There is enough evil in the society as it is.

Review

First of all, let me start by saying that 4 episodes of Tere Bin in one week, this is too much to handle. I mean, when I started watching the drama and binged 16 episodes in a night, I was kinda hoping to watch one episode every day, but then the novelty wore off. Now, there are several things about this drama that irritate me.

Correction, almost everything about this drama irritates me -Haya, Malik Zubair, Meerub. Murtasim is the only saving grace, honestly.

That been said, Yumna and Wahaj both were excellent in the first half of the episode. I particularly liked Yumna’s delivery when Meerub apologized to Murtasim.

Meerub: “Aise hi rehna”

Soft, sweet, and still able to understand her.

Speaking of which, does anyone else feel that these two often eat their words? There are occasions where I have to replay the section 3-4 times to understand what they are saying. I call it the “Shahrukh Khan” syndrome, you know. In this syndrome, the patient delivers their lines in a low voice and eat their words so the dialogues are incomprehensible.

I digress.

Even though this episode showed us plenty of #Meerasim, the Malik Zubair track left a bad taste in my mouth. I wish we would resolve all the conflicts now. It’s been too long. A good story is one that ends when the time is right.

Like as this review.
