Let’s review the latest episode of Qissa Meherbano Ka. It’s based on Fakhra Jabeen’s short story Ujalon Ki Basti. You can read the story here, and my review is here. The drama is quite different from the story itself, so don’t be disheartened by my review even if it has some spoilers.

Let’s review the latest episode of Qissa Meherbano Ka which aired on Oct 10, 2021.

Qissa Meherbano Ka Episode 6 Written Review

Let’s meet the two new characters introduced in this episode.

Mashal Khan as Fari

Murad’s second wife… I think she’s reprising her role from Thora Sa Haq, that of an obsessive obnoxious, hyper-possessive wife. Repetitive… Not interested…

And with that you also know the biggest plot development of this episode. Go, grab a cuppa if you need one. Half of the episode is done.

Shakir miyaan the house help

He might not be important, but I like people with names. Aise kya bas ek face hai without a name?

Ahsan tells his mother, I mean, Murad tells his mother why he has brought Mehrbano home. His reasons are valid, for a selfish person. He is after the monies, which we all know. But he is also being a meethi chhuri for Mehrbano. Samne se war nahin karega. When he talks to Mehrbano he tells her to take her of her responsibilities as soon as tomorrow, and that he expects her to follow his mother’s orders.

Ans yet, Mehrbano retorts when Murad’s mother, let’s call her Khadoos aunty, I haven’t heard her name yet.

At the breakfast table, Khadoos aunty asks Mehrbano to eat in the kitchen. She retorts, everybody leaves the table, and then Mehrbano meets one of her favourite people- her nephew Ayaz. Very touchy scene. Mawra has aced that doting aunt’s expression.

Then, we see Murad’s second-wife Fari who creates a scene and asks Murad to let Mehrbano go. Murad tries to calm her down several times but fails. It’s Khadoos aunty’s twisted promises that make her stay.

We see a positive change in Noor and professor Saheb. They are cordial with each other. We also sense that professor’s inna lillah is near, probably next episode.

There is another plot development that has come from nowhere, even though it was part of the short story on which this drama is based. The development is that after learnign about

Oh, and Ahsan Khan is cool. He has become Murad, the lafangey like tone when he talks to Fari… Uff… Kamal kar diya… He’s a rich sadak-chhap, and he nails the role. Well done, Ahsan. You surprise me.

So long!
