Drama Review: Ranjha Ranjha Kardi – Episode #5

Noori comes back to city but Sahir doesn’t talk to her much, taunting that she has no respect or reputation and will ruin his as well. What a mean thing to say!

A heartbroken Noori runs into Bhola, who pleads her to buy him food. Sahir sees them together and gets jealous and angry.
Qudsiya is suspicious about Noori – her unaccounted time and her frequent trips to Sahir’s shop.

Now, I’m beginning to appreciate Iqra’s acting. Her scene with Sahir in the park was great, and romantic, too. Very subtle, very real romance. Sahir, HANDSOME!!!
By the way, Haji sahab doesn’t come across like a nice man.

Best scene:

Bhola coming back home all beaten up and injured; his wails and Amma’s concerns are painful to watch.

Bhola entertains mostly but his sad scenes have the background score which I don’t understand but it brings tears to my eyes. While growing up, I have seen one such boy who was mentally disturbed. The show reminds me of him and his family. Mentally challenged folks do have a touch life and this drama brings it up brilliantly.

Question of the day:

Why do all men try and speak in lower register? Nooris father, Haji sahab, Bhola’s uncle… خوامخواہ آواز کو گمبھیر بنانے کی کوشش۔۔۔
My sister calls it the ‘Shahrukh Khan effect’ – speaking in low volume so words aren’t clear.
