Meray Humnasheen
Meray Humnasheen is a mesmerizing narrative encapsulating the struggle between aspiring dreams, hopes and greed for power.
Khajista is a smart, intelligent girl who belongs to a conservative and traditional family that hails from mountainous areas. Her passion to become a doctor stems from her childhood trauma when she lost her mother early on in life. To revolutionize healthcare services, Khajista is filled with hopes and dreams. On the other hand, Khajista’s cousin Darakhzai is a hot-headed and arrogant man whose backward thinking makes him insecure about Khajista’s higher studies and wishes to keep her under his control.
Coming from an educated and well-off family, Hadi is in his final year of medical school and his composed demeanour makes him highly likeable amongst his batch mates. Studying in the same college, Khajista and Hadi’s first encounter leaves them with mixed feelings for each other.
In a dream of becoming a doctor, will Khajista be able to overcome all the challenges? With constant pressure from her family particularly Darakhzai, will Khajista be able to fulfil her dreams or will she remain caught in the dilemma of love and dreams?

Meray Humnasheen Episode 01 Written Update and Review
We see a flashback where Amroz Khan and his father are sitting in the middle of a jungle. Three men attack them. While Amroz Khan hides behind a tree, his father is shot.
And then we see the present day him who is having a nightmare about the unfortunate incident. A dream sequence or waking up, both are pet peeves of mine, but I didn’t mind it much this time. Anywho, we learn that he isn’t on good terms with his wife Shanzay. What’s the reason? We don’t know yet, but we are sure intrigued.
This episode does a fine job of introducing the main characters. We meet Darakhzai who is too arrogant to listen to reasons.
Performances
Ahsan seems to be doing a Murad Ali 2.0 (remember Murad from Qissa Meherbano Ka?). He takes women for granted and is too full of himself. His accent often misses the beat, but he does a fine job otherwise. It is Hiba Bukhari who falters with pashto accent.
And that’s exactly why I didn’t keep Meray Humnasheen in my list in the first place. I am not a big Ahsan Khan fan, or his choices of dramas. Ever since Udari, he is choosing more grey/dark characters, and it has become monotonous now. He is handsome, no doubt, but he doesn’t have that appeal to pull me to his dramas.
As for Hiba, I have watched her only in one telefilm, and I wasn’t impressed. That’s two of the leads. As for others, Shahzad Shaikh and Syed Jibran have never disappointed. Apart from the cast, the pashto family itself has a lot of intrigue value, just like Sang e Maah. So, there’s that.
I wasn’t too keen on watching or following this drama, but the first episode has intrigued me enough. I will give this one a 5-episodes trial. By then, I hope it gives a clear indication if it’s worth watching, or maybe people will tell me if they want me to review it or not.
So long!
