Hook Episode 14 Written Update & Review

Alright, I’m back with the review of Hook, episode 14.

Resham Playing Haya

While Maimoona looks like the ultimate cold-hearted villain, it’s  Resham who is playing the mind-games. She pretends to be kind and sympathetic to Haya, and then keeps telling fabricated stories to Maimoona and Jaafar. This is her way of exacting a revenge for Shaheer’s death, I guess.

Aziz and Safiya

Aziz initially came across as a man who would never be calm, let alone being happy. But this episode showed a different avatar of him. He was sweet to Safiya and worried about Haya. I think Sohail Sameer asked the director to NOT paint him in such a negative light. Hehe.

Jaafar and Maimoona

Maimoona argues with Jaafar as usual. This woman is so insecure about her husband’s second wife. It annoys me and it also makes me empathize with her.

Safiya at Jaafar’s Place

Resham talks to Safiya and asks her to come over to meet Haya. She knows that Amma and Maimoona would not like it. Maimoona humiliates Safiya until Jaafar comes in. I was expecting Jaafar to side with Safiya, but he disappoints me.
“Please leave,” Jaafar tells Safiya.
Argh!
Why is he such a wuss in front of women of the house?

Sadaf and Zayan

Zayan’s parents are determined to see Sadaf as their daughter-in-law, and it helps their cause that Zayan spends more time with Sadaf for one reason or the other. On Sadaf’s insistence, Zayan also comes to eat breakfast with the family. His parents take this as a good sign and are hopeful.

Zayan’s Plan

Zayan might be spending more time with his parents but he is still determined to win Haya back. He plans a media ousting for Jaafar. The elections are nearing and Jaafar is appearing on a talk-show “Jawab Dena Hai” to talk about his political strategies. The interview opens nicely, until the host drops the bomb.
“If your first marriage was working great, why did you do a second nikaah?”

Review

This drama has so many things going on, but when it comes to Jaafar and Haya and the chemistry between them, I am bowled over. Kinza Hashmi and Faisal Q, both look great together.
And that’s the review. How did you guys find this episode?
