Muhabbat Gumshuda Meri Episode 1 Written Update & Review
The episode opens as we see a well decorated “girly” room.
Peace…
Love.
Happiness…
Zobia…
The camera pans out on several things and giving us a fair idea about who Zobia is.
We meet Zobia, who has applied a mask (a T-mask which reminded me of a certain episode of FRIENDS. Ah, Nostalgia), she argues with her mother unnecessarily, and she doesn’t want to clean her room. Her mother is quite strict, though. She doesn’t relent until Zobia cleans her room.
Later, we meet the rest of Zobia’s family, most of which I’ve summarized in this post: Muhabbat Gumshuda Meri | Cast and Characters
Saim and Zobia are neighbours and childhood friends. They fight, they argue, but they can’t live without each other. Saim’s mother clearly doesn’t like Zobia. Either that, or she wants them to maintain a distance, which I guess is a just thing to expect.
This picture signifies nothing. I just liked it.
Saim takes Zobia to his friend’s birthday party. The way they arrive together, the way they keep stealing glances, the way Saim takes care of Zobia; everyone thinks that they are together. I don’t blame them. I couldn’t keep my eyes off them. They were so great together, and it was evident how much Saim cares for Zobia.
And then he proves it by picking up a fight with Shaheer, one of his friends. Yikes! That’s enough excitement for the first episode.

First Impression
First of all, let me start by talking about the first impression. I almost never actively seek upcoming dramas to watch, but this one kinda fell into my lap as I saw the teasers in the beginning of “Pyari Mona”. The teaser teased me enough, and I have also liked Khushhal Khan in the previous two projects I watched: Qissa Meherbano Ka and Bebasi (Sahi na jaye iss dil se babasi… Aye dil nahin tera koi yahan, tu rona nahin…) This guy is super-talented; I love his expressions and his dialogue delivery, and I don’t want to miss a chance to watch a romance. I know, some migh note his project with Komal Meer: Wahshi, but that wasn’t my cuppa.
Alright, I’m done with fangirling over KK. Now, onto the female lead Dananeer Mobeen. We all saw her in Sinf-e-Aahan, and she did a great job with her role. Although I like her, and she’s so pretty, I don’t think she’s ready to play the lead yet. She might just prove me wrong, and I am open to be pleasantly surprised.
Finally, the writer… The moment I noticed the writer is Rahat Jabeen, I started looking for a novel. I found many with the same title, but none from Rahat Jabeen. Watching a screen adaptation of a novel can go either ways, but I like to do the comparison, so… I didn’t find the novel. If someone does, please share a link.
Overall, I’m intrigued enough to watch this drama.
Review
The episode does a nice job of exposition, and it has already incited the love story. Both Zobia and Saim are pondering over their feelings for the other. I’m sure the romance would kick in soon. Even though it hasn’t, this episode was an example of the chemistry that Khushhal and Dananeer shared. I can’t wait to see more of them.
