My Holiday Routine

Assalam Alaikum, my fellow bloggers!🌼

Shabana Mukhtar here, let’s discuss today’s daily prompt: How do you celebrate holidays?

Oh, holidays, those much-anticipated breaks from the daily grind, or should I say, the “initial sparklers” that eventually fizzle out into a symphony of exhaustion and boredom. Let’s unravel the intricate tapestry of my holiday celebrations, shall we?

Zeal to Exhaustion

Picture this: The holiday season kicks off with a burst of energy that rivals a rocket launch. There’s an excitement in the air, and I’m all in. The planning, the anticipation, the sheer joy of having some free time—it’s a heady cocktail of emotions. But oh, how swiftly that initial zeal transforms into something more… well, let’s say “sedentary.”

Thrill and Tediousness

Now, let’s talk about that thrill factor. I’m like a kid in a candy store when a holiday is on the horizon. The mere thought of it keeps me on cloud nine. But here’s the kicker: I’ve got the attention span of a caffeinated squirrel. So, as soon as the novelty wears off, things start to take a turn for the tedious. What once seemed like a grand adventure begins to feel like a never-ending episode of Groundhog Day. And that’s when the boredom creeps in.

Boredom, My Unwanted Companion

Ah, boredom, my constant holiday companion. It’s like that guest who overstays their welcome, latching onto my holiday plans like a determined barnacle. It’s not that I don’t enjoy the downtime; it’s just that my restless mind can only handle so much relaxation. So, there I am, sitting in a pool of ennui, wondering if there’s something more exciting I could be doing.

The Longing for a True Holiday

But amidst all the holiday rollercoasters, there’s one thing I yearn for—a true, blissful holiday. You know, the kind where you kick back, let your hair down (or tie it up, depending on your style), and escape the daily grind. It’s been a long 14 months since my last proper holiday, and that’s 14 months too long. So, my friends, I’m in dire need of some genuine rest and rejuvenation.

My holiday celebrations are a bit like a blockbuster movie with an exhilarating start, a sluggish middle, and a cliffhanger ending. But hey, isn’t that the beauty of it all? Holidays are a mixed bag of emotions, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to daydream about my next holiday adventure—one that’s hopefully just around the corner. Until then, here’s to the holidays, the exhaustion, the boredom, and the anticipation of something truly extraordinary on the horizon. 🏖️🌟
