Yeah, I’m now commenting on cricket, because…why not?

I’ve been meaning to do this since Asia Cup 2023 started, but time is always a luxurious commodity I lack. Today, enjoying the last few hours of the weekend, I watched the match, and realized this is the perfect opportunity to start a brand new story.

I wanted to start this post my usual chant: Kohliiii… Kohlii… But I thought that would be too cheeky.

The real fun of world cup 2023 began in this match as both teams were playing to retain their streak of “undefeated”.

The most memorable moment of the day was when Surya ran to take a run but Kohli returned quickly realizing that the fielder is going to throw the ball any moment. Due to lack of coordination, Surya had already reached the other end. Both were standing at the same side and then Surya had to return. Needless to say, he got run out. The way Virat kepy staring at Surya long after he left the crease, just ouch! Wapas ja ke maarega usko tappal.

Of all the cricket that I’ve watched in my life, most of which is this year, this was the weirdest, most awkward moment. Then came Jadeja, who hit three boundaries. Virat of on fire today. After 46 overs, he kinda decided to finish the match early.

He needs 8 runs for his 49th ODI century and 9 to win the match.

And then 7 runs for his 49th ODI century and 6 to win the match.

And then 5 runs for his 49th ODI century and 5 to win the match.

And then he got out.

At 95!!!

Aw, man!

It was so close. He should have been a bit more patient. I guess?

Anywho, Mohammad Shami came and took a single, giving Jadeja the strike who hit the winning boundary. It was the first time in WC2023 that Jadeja was batting, and boy did he do a fine job.
