This book is transliteration of Umera Ahmed’s masterpiece Peer-e-Kaamil WITHOUT HER PERMISSION.
This is only for those readers who understand Urdu but can’t read it. On Goodreads, some people asked meabout Roman transliteration of Peer-e-Kamil. I couldn’t find it, so I made a mental note to try and make it available to others for free when I get time. Then I forgot about it because I never get time.
And this morning, I got this book. Some kind soul had enough time to transliterate, print, and spiral bind and bring it home.
Anyone interested in reading the roman version can borrow from me.

Us din wo ghar wapas aa kar apne kamre mein band ho kar roti rahi. Tehreem ki baaton ne use waqai bahot dil bardaashta aur mayus kiya tha.
Hashim Mubeen Ahmad us din shaam ko hi office se ghar wapas aa gaye. Wapas aane par unhein Salma se pata chala ke Imama ki tabiyat kharab hai. Wo uska haal ahwaal puchne uske kamre mein chale aaye. Imama ki aankein sooji hui thin. Hashim Mubeen hairaan reh gaye.
“Kya baat hai Imama?” Unhon ne Imama qareeb aa kar pucha
Wo uth kar baith gayi aur kuch bahana karne ki bajaye be ikhteyaar rone lagi. Hashim kuch pareshan ho kar us ke qareeb bed par baith gaye.
“Kya hua….. Imama?”
“Tehreem ne aaj school mein mujh se bahot badtameezi ki hai.” Us ne rote hue kaha.
Hashim Mubeen ne be ikhteyaar ek itmenaan bhari saans li. “Phir koi jhagda hua hai tum logon mein?”
“Baba! Aap ko nahin pata usne mere saath kya kiya hai?”Imama ne baap to mutmayin hote dekh kar kaha.
“Baba! Usne …….” Wo baap ko tehreem ke sath hone wali tamaam guftgu batati gayi. Hashim Mubeen ke chehre ki rangat badalne lagi.
“Tum se kis ne kaha tha. Tum school kitaben le kar jao, unhein padhane ke liye?” Unhon ne Imama ko dant’te hue kaha.
“Main unki ghalat fehmiyaan door karna chahti thi.”Imama ne kamzor lehje mein kaha.
“Tumhein zaroorat hi kya thi kisi ki ghalat fehmiyaan door karne ki? Wo hamare ghar nahin aatin to na aayen. Hamein bura samajhti hain to samjhti rahen, hamein usse kya farq padta hai.” Hashim Mubeen ne use samjhate hue kaha.
“Magar tumhari is harkat se pata nahin wo kya samjhegi. Kis kis ko batayegi ke tum ne use wo kitaben dene ki koshish ki. Khud uske ghar wale bhi naaraz honge. Imama! Har ek ko ye batate nahin phirte ke tum kya ho. Na hi apne firqe ke bare mein bahes karte hain, agar koi bahes karne ki koshish bhi kare to haan mein haan mila dete hain warna log khwahmakhwah fizool tarah ki batein karte hain aur fizool tarah ke shubhaat mein mubtala hote rehte hain.” Unhon ne samjhaya.
“Magar baba! Aap to bahot sare logon ki tableegh karte hain?”Imama ne kuch uljhe andaaz mein kaha. “Phir mujhe kyun mana kar rahe hain?”
“Meri baat aur hai. Main sirf unhi logon se mazhab ki baat karta hoon jin se meri bahot be-takallufi ho chuki hoti hai aur jin ke bare mein mujhe ye mehsoos ho ke un par meri targheeb aur tableegh ka asar ho sakta hai. Main 2-4 din ki mulaqaat mein kisi ko kitabein baantna shuru nahin ho jata” Hashim Mubeen ne kaha
“Baba! Unse meri dosti 2-4 din ki nahin hai. Ham kayi saalon se dost hain.”Imama ne aitraaz kiya.
“Haan magar wo dono Sayyad hain aur dono ke gharaane bahot mazhabi hain. Tumhein ye baat zahen mein rakhni chahiye thi.”
“Main ne to sirf unhein apne firqe ke bare mein batane ki koshish ki thi ta ke wo hamein wo ghair muslim to na samjhein.”Imama ne kaha.
“Agar wo hamein ghair muslim samajhte hain to hamein bhi kya farq padta hai. Wo khud ghair muslim hain.” Hashim Mubeen ne badi aqeedat se kaha. “Wo to khud gumrahi ke raaste par hain.”
“Baba wo keh rahi thi ke aap ko ghair mulki machineries se rupya milta hai. NGOs se rupya milta hai ta ke aap logon ko hamare firqe ka pairokaar banayen.”
Hashim Mubeen na tanaffur se gardan ko jhatka. “Mujhe sirf apni jama’at se rupya milta hai aur wo bhi wo rupya hota hai jo hamari community androon mulk aur bairoon mulk se ikattha karti hai. Hamare paas apne rupye ki kya kami hai. Hamari apni factories nahin hain kya aur agar mujhe ghair mulki machineries aur NGOs se rupya mile bhi to main khushi se lunga, aakhir is mein burayi kya hai. Deen ki khidmat kar raha hoon aur jahan tak apne mazhab ki tarveej-o-tableegh ki baat hai to us mein bhi kya burayi hai. Agar is mulk mein isaiyat ki tableegh ho sakti hai to hamare firqe ki kyun nahin. Ham to waise bhi Islam ka ek firqa hain. Logon ko hidayat par lane ki koshish mein masroof hain.” Hashim Mubeen ne badi tafseel ke sath bataya.
“Magar tum log is maamle par baat mat kiya karo. Is bahes mubahise ka koi fayda nahin hota. Abhi ham log aqliyat mein hain, jab aksariyat mein ho jayenge to phir is tarah log itni be khaufi se badh badh kar baat nahin kar sakenge. Phir wo is tarah hamari tazleel karte hue darenge, magar filhaal aise logon ke munh nahin lagna chahiye.”
“Baba! Aayeen mein hamein aqliyat aur ghair muslim kyun qaraar diya gaya hai? Jab ham Islam ka ek firqa hain to phir unhon ne hamein ghair muslim kyun thehraya hai?”Imama ko Tehreem ki kahi hui ek aur baat yaad aayi.
“Ye sab maulviyon ki karastaani thi. Apne maqasid ke husool ke liye wo sab hamare khilaaf ikatthe ho gaye the. Hamari ta’daad bhi zyada ho jayegi to ham phir apni marzi ke qawaneen banwayenge aur is tarah ki tamaam tarmeemaat ko aayeen mein se hata denge.” Hashim Mubeen ne pur josh andaaz mein kaha. “Aur tumhein aise be-waqoofon ki tarah kamre mein band ho kar rone ki koi zaroorat nahin hai.”
Hashim Mubeen ne uske paas se uth kar jate hue kaha, Imama unhein wahan se jate hue dekhti rahi.
Tehreem ke sath wo uski dosti ka aakhri din tha aur us mein Tehreem se zyada khud uska rawaiyya wajah tha. Wo Tehreem ki baaton se is had tak dil bardashta hui thi ke ab Tehreem ke saath dobara pehle jaise ta’lluqaat qayam rakha uske liye mushkil ho gaya tha. Khud Tehreem ne bhi uski is khamushi ko phalaangne ya todne ki koshish nahin ki.
Hashim Mubeen Ahmad, Ahmadi jama’at ke sarkardah rehnumaaon mein se ek the. Unke bade bhai, Aazam Mubeen Ahmad bhi jama’at ke ahem rehnumaaon mein se the. Unke pure khaandaan mein se chand ek ko chod kar baqi tamaam afraad bahot saal pehle qadiyaniyat ikhteyaar kar gaye the jab Aazam Mubeen Ahmad ne is kaam ka aaghaaz kiya tha. Jin logon ne qadiyaniyat ikhteyaar nahin ki thi wo baqi logon se qata ta’lluq kar chuke the. Apne bade bhai ke naqsh-e-qadam pe chalte hue Hashim Mubeen ne bhi ye mazhab ikhteyaar kar liya. Aazam Mubeen hi ki tarah unhon ne apne mazhab ke farogh aur tableegh ke liye kaam karna bhi shuru kar diya. 10-15 saalon mein wo dono bhai is tehreek ke sarkardah rehnumaaon mein shumaar hone lage. Iski wajah se unhon ne be tahasha paisa kamaya aur is paise se unhon ne sarmaya kaari bhi ki, magar unki aamadni ka bada zariya tehreek ki tableegh ke liye mayassar hone wale funds hi the. Unka shumaar Islamabad ki elite class mein hota tha. Be tahasha daulat hone ke bawajood Hashim aur Aazam ke ghar ka mahol riwayati tha. Unki khawateen ba-qaida parda karti thin magar iska ye matlab nahin tha ke un khawateen par na rawa pabandiyan ya kisi qism ka jabr rawa rakha gaya tha. Is mazhab ki khawateen mein taleem ka tanasub Pakistan mein kisi bhi mazhab ke muqable mein hamesha zyada hi raha hai. In logon ne aala taleem bhi maaroof adaron se haasil ki.
Imama bhi isi qism ke maahol mein pali badhi thi. Wo yaqeenan un logon mein se thi jo munh mein sone ka chamcha le kar paida hote hain aur us ne Hashim Mubeen ko bhi kisi qism ke maali masail se guzarte nahin dekha. Yahi wajah thi ke us ke liye Tehreem ki ye baat naa-qabil-e-yaqeen thi ke uske khaandaan ne paisa hasil karne ke liye ye mazhab ikhteyaar kiya hai. Ghair mulki machinaries aur bairoon mulk se milne wale funds ka ilzaam bhi uske liye na-qaabil-e-qubool tha. Wo ye baat achi tarah janti thi ke Hashim Mubeen is mazhab ki tableegh-o-tarveej karte hain aur tehreek ke sarkarda rehnumaaon mein se ek hain magar ye koi khilaaf-e-maamul baat nahin thi. Wo shuru se hi is silsile mein apne taaya aur walid ki sargarmiyon ko dekhti aa rahi thi. Uske nazdeek ye kaam aisa tha jo wo “Islam” ki tableegh-o-tarveej ke liye kar rahe the.
Apne ghar walon ke sath wo kayi baat mazhabi ijtema mein ja chuki thi aur sarkardah rehnumaaon ke London se satellite ke zariye hone wale khutbaat ko bhi ba-qayedgi se sunti aur dekhti aa rahi thi. Tehreem ke sath hone wale jhagdese pehle usne kabhi apne mazhab ke bare mein ghaur karne ki koshish nahin ki thi. Uske liye apna firqa aisa hi tha, jaise Islam ka koi dusra firqa…… Uski brain washing is tarah ki gayi thi ke wo samajhti thi ke sirf wahi sidhe raaste par the balke wahi jannat mein jayenge.
Agarche ghar mein bahot shuru mein hi use baqi bahen bhaiyon ke sath naseehat kar di gayi thi ke wo bila wajah logon ko na batayein ke wo asal mein kya hain. School ki taleem ke dauraan hi wo ye jaan gayi thi ke 1974 mein unhein parliament ne ek ghair muslim aqliyat qaraar de diya tha. Wo samajhti thi ke ye mazhabi dabao mein aakar kiya gaya faisla hai. Magar Tehreem ke sath hone wale jhagde ne use apne mazhab par ghaur karne aur sochne par majboor kar diya tha.
Tehreem se hone wale jhagde ke baad ek tabdeeli jo usmein aayi wo apne mazhab ka mutala’a tha. Tableeghi mawaad aur un kitabon ke alawa jinhein us mazhab ke manne wale muqaddas samajhte the, usne aur bhi bahot si kitaabon ka mutala’a karna shuru kar diya. Aur buniyadi taur par usi zamane mein uski uljhanon ka aaghaaz hua. Magar kuch arsa mutala’a karne ke baad usne ek baar phir in uljhanon aur izteraab ko apne zahen se jhatak diya. Matric ke fauran baad Asjad se uski mangni ho gayi, wo Aazam Mubeen ka beta tha. Ye agarcha koi mohabbat ki mangni nahin thi magar uske bawajood Imama aur Asjad ki pasand is rishte ka ba’as bani thi. Nisbat tay hone ke baad Asjad ke liye Imama ke dil mein khasi jagah ban gayi thi.
Apni pasand ke shakhs se nisbat ke baad uska dusra target medical mein admission tha aur use us ke bare mein zyada fikr nahin thi. Wo janti thi ke uske baap ki pahonch itni hai ke agar wo merit par na bhi hui tab bhi wo use medical college mein daakhil karwa sakte hain aur agar ye mumkin na hota to wo bairoon mulk ja kar medical ki taleem hasil kar sakti thi.
