Aik Aur Pakeezah Episode 1 Written Update and Review
Fair warning, posting from a phone with very little storage that starts behaving erratically so there could be typos or formatting errors. I will fix them when I am in front of my laptop.
The first half of the episode shows us a back-n-forth of how pakeeza planned her wedding and how it actually happened. Everything she claimed about her family’s reaction, turned out to be wrong.
Then we meet Saman and zubair who like each other, talk philosophical and finally confess their feelings.

Back to Pakeeza and Faraz, they both are still struggling to make sense of the 180-degree turn their lives has taken. While Pakeeza doesn’t stop from showing her frustration, Faraz is being more practical and restrained.

The episode ends as Pakeezah snaps at Faraz:
Hath na lagayin mujhe.
Review
The drama gave very Khwab Saraye vibe when the youngest daughter married a young rich guy (don’t recall names right now, sorry). Except that this one has a harassment and viral video angle the novel lacked. My breathing slowed dangerously in the first few scenes.
I thought Pakistani dramas and I were in a good place and were to ready to take our relationship to a new stage where I can start watching a new drama with blind faith rather than choosing one on exposed-facto basis. This first episode itself felt so heavy that I am not hesitant. Rookie mistake, I’d say because this time the plan was to not abandon any drama.
I’ll give the second episode a try, though.
