Sirf Shabana Episode 2 Written Update and Review

Mehendi Function

Okay, so we are at Mehendi function. Lukhha#1, the one who harassed Shabana at her shop as well, and claimed to be counselor’s nephew is hitting on Shabana, so she quickly moves to different spot.

The scene shifts to Bilal and his rishta meeting with the girl. The interaction was hilarious and a must watch.

The third and the last mehendi function scene was the most predictable manhoosiyat wala scene: iski to mangni toot gayi hai, etc. Shabana walking away, uff. Bigger fan of Sohai just for that walk.

The Walk Home

As Shabana heads home, lukkha follows her. Another unbearably cringe scene follows. It’s so painful to watch the eveteasing scenes, even though we know it’s fiction but it’s so close to real life that even fictional representation freaks me out.  Shabana was admittedly a rock in teaching that lukhha a lesson, it just makes my heartbeat slower when I walk creeps like this even on screen. That’s the reason I stopped watching Aik Aur Pakeezah. The predator was not alone. There were many like him in the jungle. I wonder what makes these actors oick such roles. I have never seen this lukhha bot before but now I’ll forever remember as lukhha. Lukkhas name is Rafey.

The Confrontation

Rafey goes and lies to the crowd that Shabana beat him for no reason. Shabana and khalu go there, face the crowd, listen to their bohtan and come back. Painful to watch, heartbeat slowed again.

But this wasn’t the end of the story.

The Consequence

The whole town is against Shabana now, except for Bilal. From her boss snatching away the growth opportunity to hinting that she’s indeed a bad person, from many people forbidding their kids from talking to Shabana. It’s only Bilal who gives no shit about it.

Kuch toh log kehenge, logoN ka kaam hai kehna

Shabana jaisi un ki koi maaN hai na behna

The worst part is that Rafey is indeed Counselor’s nephew and now the counselor Murtaza is avoiding Shabana. Another woman at the office taunts Shabana:

If your father knew you, he’d scrub his name off himself.

Or something to that effect.

Shabana’s spirit is broken, we can sense, without much tears or drama, and that’s the beauty of this drama so far.

The Revenge

Kabeer is still holding Akhtar hostage, despite Dadi’s persuasion. When he contacts Shabana, she isn’t in the right frame of mind, and he senses it immediately. Speak about connection.

“Are you okay?” he asks.

“Release Akhtar,” Shabana says.

My heart goes out to her.

Review

I like how maturely Shabana dealt with the situation. She handed Aima the envelope and walked away gracefully, taught lukkha a lesson in the gully and still openly admitted to her Khala of being wrong: You were right, I shouldn’t have gone there.

These two lines from the episode stuck with me.

اگر ہر لڑکی کسی لفنگے سے چھڑنے کے بعد بولنا شروع کر دے تو ملک کی آدھی آبادی بہری ہو جائے

ہر بھونکنے والے کتے پر پتھر نہیں مارا کرتے

I like that both main characters have the same flaw: anger and the urge to fight injustice. Let’s see if they fight each other with just as much passion, hehe.
