Winter Love Episode 1 Written Update and Review

So, Mushk has lost her parents in a road accident and after a month, the nightmares still don’t leave her alone. On a rainy and stormy night, she wakes up and decides that she can’t be home alone. So, she packs her bags, calls her cousin Meerub and decides to go live with them for a while.

Not a smart idea now, is it?

We see Hayat dancing and grooving as if he’s in a disco, giving serious deja vu of Kamyar and all the episodes of Meri Zindagi Hai Tu. The lights are turned off, and it turns out that he’s in a just-vacated room. He’s shifting, clearly.

On a road, the two cars stop in front of each other, not surprisingly. She scolds him, he says bhalai ka zamana nahin raha, and they get on their ways. A few meters away, her car stops (no prize for predicting that). A while layer, he comes back (why? don’t ask) and offers to help. Battery mein pani hai and it will destroy the engine if she tries to start the car so he suggests stopping by at a dhaba and enjoy tea and some “conversation”. Even though he keeps saying he’s a shareef ghar ka ladka, uski harkatein mashkook hain. Anyway, some moments that felt forced, and banter that wasn’t much witty, he drops her home. She gets down without a thanks even though he tries to ask for number etc. so he’s good at flirting. Chance lene ka na, types vibe I got.

His family is thoda crazy. Father likes poetry, mother thinks that her husband doesn’t love her and is staunch believer in jaadu tona. Hayat wants to move to USA and younger brother causally steals from big brother. I didn’t know how to feel about this family.

Meerub is freaking out as Mushk was so late. Mishal (Mashal) is Mushk’s sister, married to phupho’s son Ammar. The family insists that Mushk shouldn’t live alone and move in with them. She’s almost ready until Mashal drops the bomb that Qadeer Mamu wants his share in the house (it was their Nana’s). Mushk reacts irrationally and says she will not let them sell the house. Matlab heroine bahot emotional hai.

Meerub tried to console Mushk. They get to talking, thinking how to avoid this inevitable house-selling. Mushk would need 6 crores to save her house (Qadeer Mamu ka hissa, he gets twice being a son, remember). So, Meerub suggests Mushk can marry and ask for 6 crores haq-e-mehr.

Say what now?

Review

The title sounds like a trope-based seasonal romance novel’s title. Khushhal played Mawra’s nephew in that rondu drama with Ahsan Khan. Name to be searched and linked here shortly.

It isn’t going to be a mind-blowing story and the main characters are obviously flawed and annoying but let’s give it a go. It’s been a while that both leads are my favourite. Kabhi khushhal comes with Dananeer who I hate for no reason, or Mawra comes with someone who I don’t like. This couple, I like.

I will update the list when I watch the episodes and more characters enter the scene.
