Zanjeerain Episode 22 Written Update and Review

I can’t remember skipping past so much of any episode of any drama. A well-known fact is that I watch dramas on 2X, can’t increase speed more than that without paying Google. Even on that 2X speed, I felt the hospital scenes, all scenes between Rabiya and Sar Buland were just…slow… They are standing in front of each other, staring, and then the camera zooms out to show their surrounding, and then further out to show the whole hospital corridor where nobody else is seen except these two. Itna kya dikhane ka hai bhai? True, two good looking people, but that gets old very very fast. Also, just before this scene, inside the room, Sar Buland had said: meko kahin jane hai hai government meeting ke liye, and Rabiya offered to look after Bibi Jaan. Then, they step out and talk and stare at each other. I was like, Sar Buland, bhai meeting ko jana thha na?
Torsam almost finds out the girl with Sar Buland, that was a nice moment making us viewers worried that that crazy guy knowing about Rabiya’s whereabouts will just make things worse, but Torsam is too arrogant to even get up from his perch. Nice save there, but the relief is only momentary. Tayyab calls Bano’s phone (that Sohrab keeps staring at, guilt and all) and vomits everything about Rabiya and Mudassir. Tayyab is old enough to know that when we talk on phone, and someone else picks up the call, first we should ask them who they are, not assume.

I know… I know… Just plot device to tell Sohrab Zarmala’s real identity but I didn’t like it.

Let me think… what else was interesting? Oh, Rabiya controlling her anger upon Shirin’s provocation in the kitchen was nice. I like that. Pehle she controls her anger and then bursts. There was a similar scene in the earlier episode when she was dealing with Torsam. Consistency in at least some aspect of her character, I like it.

Also, the subtle shake of her head to stop Sar Buland from drinking juice was nice. Sar Buland’s now pondering over it, and we must admit that Danny Z looks gorgeous when he’s thinking, pondering over stuff. I think people are praising Sajal for this drama but Daniayal has done tremendously well, too.

All said and done, this Sar Buland-Rabiya angle creeps me out somehow. I don’t know if anybody else feels that way, but I do, and I will say it out load.

Chalo, bas itna hi. Salaam!
