So, I read a Harry Potter fanfic.
I know… I know… it’s like a rabbit hole, and I didn’t have a good feeling about it but I really really wanted to know how others felt about the romantic relationships of the series. I, for one, am not a big fan of Harry-Ginny or Hermione-Ron.
So after much deliberation (for weeks) and extensive consultation with ChatGPT (for days), I read two fanfics.
And I hated them both.
I guess what I expected was the same magical and cozy feeling you get when you read Harry Potter (even though lovely people are killed left, right and centre) and all I got was… just teenagers blandly writing their favourite ships. Kinda like wattpad (yes, I have read wattpad stories, not all are bad but there’s a pattern).
The fanfics I read… both were bad, left-a-bitter-taste-in-my-mouth bad. So, we conclude that it’s not for me.
Then, I picked up Amarbel by Umera Ahmed to cleanse my palette. I know, that was never part of August reading pile. It’s only the first day of August and I have already digressed from my TBR. I should stop planning TBR. I NEVER stick to it.
NOTE: This is part of “write one post every day for a year” challenge.
