Nashtar | Episode 1

Introduction

Shah Dawood, the proud heir to a powerful landowning family, has always been accustomed to getting his way. Raised under his father’s strict influence, he believes in authority, control, and unquestioned respect. But his confidence is challenged when he meets Bareera Aijaz, a strong-willed and principled university student who refuses to be intimidated by his status.

When Bareera stands up to Shah Dawood publicly, their first encounter sparks a bitter battle of egos. Neither is willing to back down, but circumstances soon force them into an unexpected marriage. Living together brings their differences into sharper focus, as Bareera refuses to surrender her dignity and Shah Dawood struggles to accept someone who will not submit to him.

Yet beneath their constant arguments, a deeper connection begins to emerge. Their resentment gradually turns into respect and admiration, and feelings they never expected start to take root.

However, their newfound bond faces a serious challenge when Tamseel, who has always loved Shah Dawood, refuses to accept Bareera as part of his life. Her jealousy and determination create further complications for the couple.

Will Shah Dawood and Bareera overcome the obstacles standing between them?
Will Tamseel succeed in separating Shah Dawood from Bareera?
Can Shah Dawood and Bareera turn their unlikely bond into lasting love?

Nashtar Episode 1 Written Update and Review

Let’s include some toxicity in our weekly schedule, shall we?

Introducing Danish Taimoor… This time with Anmol Baloch.

The Birthday Party

The opening shot is so generic for dramas these days, no? Jis ko bhi rich dikhana hai, usko yacht pe khada kar do. I noticed uncanny resemblance and I couldn’thelp but compare with pics right here, on my own blog.

And from Mein, almost three years ago…

Shah Dawood’s suit was so ill-fitted. I didn’t expect that. Danish is usually very well-dressed.

Tamseel to Arbaaz: Kuch chizen dosti mein bhi na-qabil-e-bardasht hoti hain jaise tumhara aaj kal ka rawaiya.

Arbaz doesn’t take it well, so Tamseel slaps Arbaz, as one should. Doston mein aisi slapping toh chalti hi rehti hai, right? In response, Arbaz also raises his hand because doston mein aisi slapping toh chalti hi rehti hai, right? Dawood notices this and stops Arbaz and punches Arbaz because doston mein aisi slapping toh chalti hi rehti hai, right?

Later on, Dawood scolds even Tamseel: why did you create the drama? Tamseel professes her love (she’s too poetic, by the way).

Tamseel: Kehne do apni aakhon ko
Dawood: Keh toh rahi hain, tumhein sunati nahin de raha

Introducing Bareera

Bareera stops some harassers, which felt very generic. Her cued-turn, throwing her bag to the two girls standing nearby (because they were hired to just do that: stand in the background and hold the bag) was so over-the-top.

Bareera and Sundus shooting something when two guys tease Sundus. Faltoo ki phadde-baazi.

Donation drive

Didn’t donate, asked to reverse, STILL didn’t donate.

Dawood At Home

Dastoor Ali Khan sees someone burning alive, seems paralized.

Dawood comes back home, Faheem knows “his days are over”. And yet, to Dawood he says:

Faheem: Sir, aap nahin hote to main 110% efficient hota hoon.

Dawood: Hadh se nikal jaane wale log mujhe pasand nahin hain Faheem.

Burn!

Faheem is quite evil, though. While Dawood is out at his second party for his birthday, he steals Dastoor’s ring, and plants it on the cleaner when caught. What I didn’t like was that Dawood didn’t even know Faheem is the culprit and the cleaning guy (didn’t catch his name) is an honest man.

First Impression

Let me start off with a disclaimer that I know this is going to be toxic and I AM going to abandon it sooner or later. But this episode was good. Although, I felt the usual grandeur of GEO productions missing in this one.
