Book Haul | BookChor.com #6

When I posted my first last birthday book haul, I knew this isn’t the end. It really isn’t.

I’m in Pune, have a lot of time at hand, can’t read much, don’t have any inspiration to write (though the idea list is growing longer by every passing hour), so I was spending time browsing Rs 49 store on Bookchor.com, as one does.

Now, here’s the deal. I do that very often, keep adding titles to cart but somehow, the best ones are gone within hours. For example, a while back, there were Karin Salughter and Roald Dahl books for Rs 49. I couldn’t believe it, added them, to check later once I have 13 books (I’ll explain the math in some time) and got busy with life. When I came back a couple of hours later, the books were gone.

Not this time. I wouldn’t let that happen, I thought. And placed the order on 15-August-2026 (Celebrating Independence Day :P). Of course, I ordered it for my home address, not here in Pune, because I already have load of stuff to carry home. The books arrived on 22-August-2026 but I wasn’t home to haul.

Let me summarize the purchase.

Total Books Purchased: 9

Total Price: Rs 923

Buy 2 Get 7 Free Offer

Total to Pay: Rs 923

Per Book Price: ~Rs 102.56

Timeline

10-October-2026: Order placed

12-October-2026: Quality check completed (all books look nice except one), order dispatched

18-October-2026: Parcel arrived.

Nine Books, ₹923, and a Deal I Couldn’t Resist

I have nine new books on my shelf, and I’m rather pleased with this haul!

I ordered these from BookChor under their Buy 2 at MRP, Get 7 Free offer. The two books I paid for were both Dan Brown novels, because why wouldn’t I? The other seven came along for free.

My haul includes three Dan Brown books (Angels and Demons, The Da Vinci Code and Digital Fortress), the complete Hunger Games trilogy, Gone Girl, Big Little Lies and They Both Die at the End.

The total came to ₹923. Naturally, I did the maths. That’s roughly ₹103 per book. I usually see popular, BookTok-famous titles selling for ₹200–250 at second-hand bookstores, so this felt like a pretty good deal. At the book box fair I attended earlier, each book worked out to around ₹150. This haul was considerably more economical.

Of course, the plan is to actually read these books, not just admire them on my shelves. I’m trying to reduce my screen time and spend more time reading physical books. And what better excuse to do that than a stack of books I’ve been wanting to read?

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some reading to do. My TBR pile isn’t going to shrink by itself!

Final Thoughts

Bookchor.com is officially my go-to bookstore now. And I think for 9 very popular bestseller books, this book haul was a steal.

Until next time, happy reading!
