Dear Diary | Eid Break 2025 | Day 2

I was talking to my sister today. She was a bit upset that she could not perform ibadah as per her usual Ramzan routine. The only thing that has changed from Ramzan 2024 is that now she has a toddler to take care of. My nephew Abdul Haadi is only 6 months old, and he’s at the peak of his weepy days. He cries for no reason, no reason at all. I mean, when he’s here, he probably finds us strange and cries. But even at his home, when he’s surrounded by parents and grandparents, he weeps.

Kids!

And that made me think. If I look at Ramzan 1446, it was probably the best Ramzan ever, because I never missed Taraweeh. Earlier, I would always catch a common cold at least once during Ramzan. Runny nose, watery eyes, fever, and that would inevitably make it difficult to offer namaz. I would offer farz namaz, but I could never finish taraweeh. Sometimes, I would offer 8 rakats, and sometimes only 12. This year, however, I was healthy, alhamdulillah. Even though I have severe knee problem, I could take frequent breaks and finish taraweeh. On some days, I have done it in three parts. One day, I fell alseep, woke up around 3 AM and then finished taraweeh. I guess what I’m trying to say here is, Allah has been kind to me and all of us.

میں اللہ کی شکر گزار ہوں کہ اس نے مجھے اس مہینے کی برکات اور عبادات سے نوازا -اللہ ہمیں ایمان اور صحت والی لمبی زندگی دے ۔ آمین۔

How was your Ramzan this year?

Regards,

Shabana
