Of course! But you probably knew it since I started posting this series: Pakistani Drama and I and our complicated relationship. So, I thought, if I were to spend hours on YouTube, why not start watching Pakistani Dramas again.
At least they would:
-
give me structured storytelling
-
be culturally familiar
-
and hey — also give me more content for my blog (which means more ad revenue 👀)
But this time, I wasn’t being impulsive.
I sat with the idea for months. Three, to be precise. Always on the edge, wondering whether this decision would pull me back into endless binge cycles… or help me return more mindfully.
I still don’t know the answer — but I do have a plan.
So here’s the plan. (What? Did you think there will be a dramatic pause or big reveal?)
I’m going to start watching Pakistani dramas again — but only a handful, and only the ones starring actors I haven’t grown tired of yet. No pressure, no “must-watch hype,” no chasing trends. Just… selective viewing.
I’m also going to look at them as content.
Plain and simple.
(It sounds simple — it isn’t.)
This time, I want to approach dramas with curiosity instead of judgment. I want to watch them without spiralling into irritation, overanalysis, or emotional exhaustion.
Most importantly, I want to learn — and consistently practise — the art of not getting too involved.
Because I’ve realised something about myself: when I like something, I don’t just consume it — I obsess over it. Whether it’s work, stories, or even listening to people talk about their “never-ending life crises,” I tend to sink too deep, too fast.
So this isn’t just about dramas.
It’s about discipline.
Boundaries.
Intentional engagement.
Sounds like a solid plan… right?
Now the only question left is:
Which drama am I starting with?
For that — you’ll have to read the final part of this series .
