Elevator Pitch
Mr Wrong promises to be a light-hearted, bantery romantic comedy between an alleged Mr Wrong and an desperate-to-be-in-a-relationship Miss Annoying. In other words, Mr Wrong is a story of Ezgi and Ozgur. Ezgi just got dumped, and she needs help to woo another suitor. Ozgur needs a girl to pretend to be his girlfriend for his sister’s wedding party. The two strike a deal to help each other.
Mr Wrong Urdu Dubbed Episode 1 Written Update & Review
Ezgi is helplessly romantic (read stupid) and the queen of bad choices. Every time she dates a man, he ends up cheating on her with another woman, or he’s only after her money (she doesn’t have much of it), whether it’s Uzair or Sinan or whats-his-name. Honestly, I lost track because Ezgi right here is the type of heroine I don’t relate to, and I don’t even like reading about or watching her.
At this point, I was thinking, is watching “Mr Wrong” a wrong choice?
Then there is Ozgur. We meet Ozgur driving his sports car at high speed. He arrives at a high-end restaurant with overly loud music. He tends to the bar, plays a DJ, suggests additional ingredients to the recipes of an experienced chef (really?). During the night, several women hit on him giving him their number while one particular woman gets green with envy, and then taking one home.
At this point, I was thinking, is watching “Mr Wrong” a wrong choice?
Nice introduction of the main characters, isn’t it?
Now, the next plot point should be a meet-cute. What should it be? Rain, and they both get into the same cab. They bicker a little, as one would expect, and she enters him in the “bad books”.
Now, Ezgi is trying to make the best of her life, wants to focus on her career, even hopes to get promoted. The promotion does happen-that of a junior. I feel her pain this time. Upset, she lashes out at her boss and loses her job. On the other hand, Ozgur gets rid of his clingy one-night-stand. While walking out, Ezgi hits by a car, that of a doctor, no less. The doctor is Dr Serdar, who takes her to the hospital. I got a feeling that Dr Serdar likes Ezge. It’s Ezge’s obnoxious friend Gizem who is quite rude to Dr Serdar. Deniz seems to be hitting on Dr Serdar. I was like, is this going to be a love quadrangle?
PS: The premise reminded me of Justin Long’s track in He’s Just Not That Into You, you know-a womanizer guy helping a helpless romantic woman learn a thing or two to get Mr Right. They both even have as a bar, ahem!
