Aik Aur Pakeezah Episode 6 Written Update and Review

Faraz comes home to find Pakeezah sound asleep, peaceful for once, and a plate of food for him. He recalls how Pakeezah had said: no touching unless we see husband and wife. And he controls his urge to touch her hand.

Restraint!

And then Pakeezah opens her eyes. She was awake. Beautiful moment!

Saman meets Akbar, tries to explain what a crime it has been, and offers to fight the case for them.

Akbar: Aapki practice bhi toh aise cases se hi chamkti hai. Hamari badnami ko kandhon par uthaye aap case jeet bhi jayen to hamara kya hoga?

The scene was beautifully written, beautifully executed as we see both sides exasperated, both sides being correct and helpless. In short, Akbar refuses to give Saman what she needed: Pakeezah’s number.

Saman and Zubair talk, their conservation oscillating between their marriage (the impending fear of rejection), Pakeezah’s plight and how Zubair went against the tradition of his qabeela and made a life of his own. I don’t know why, but the moment I hear that word, I i think of Colonel Ahmad Kamal Faridi, woh bhi “qabayeli hi hai”. I won’t explain that. Those who know, know.

Aliya tells Aslam about Yaseen’s rishta. The last time they spoke, she talked about a girl’s rishta, the girl who could have been Asghar’s wife. She brings up Akbar’s marriage as well. The scene was painful and beautiful at the same time.

Pakeezah picks up a fight with Faraz for no reason. But he takes the first step and takes her out for chaat and juice. Small moments!

But then she ruins it by saying: you wouldn’t have married me if you weren’t in the video. All he said was to take a day off. Inni jaldi to happy ending honi bhi nahin hai na.

We see a very uncomfortable scene between Saman’s mother and Zubair. She’s classic case of negging, if I’m using the term right. Bhigo bhigo kar jootey marti hai. Someone tell her ki aisa karne se takleef kam nahin hoti. Zubair seems conflicted now. I wanted to tell him: run far, run fast. Iski samajh nahin aayi. There are so many complex characters, uff, dimagh ka dahi.

Pakeezah uses her phone for the first time, the one Faraz bought second hand, and calls her mother. Just to hear her voice.

The episode ends as Pakeezah thinks of taking a job in the shoe karkhana in the same building. Let’s see now that goes.
