Non-review Rant

Hey, guys!

If you were noticing, I had been gone from this blog barring sporadic book reviews. The reasons are multi-fold; I will mention only two.

  1. I have developed an aversion to all types of Pakistani dramas.
  2. I didn’t have time.

And, life is happening so fast that I have no time or energy to spend on drama or drama reviews.

I hadn’t realized that my little blog have some ardent fans, some kind souls who have been following me. Over the past few months, they have requested me to be back. This time, I caved in.

Would I be able to review as before? Doubt it.

Would my blog be as popular as before? Double doubt it.

Since I’m doing it almost reluctantly at this point and have very little time at hand. I will just jot down my thoughts and not go on rambling as I used to. Let’s see if this format works.

Dil Wali Gali Mein | Episode 1

Recap

1: A court where civil marriage take place, officers can easily be bribed.

Deeju and Mujji are there, obvio, a reporter reporting such cases increasing, Deeju is apprehensive.

Surely, soon enough, both families parties learn about their presence in court.

Big tamasha

Magistrate gives an hour’s ultimatum to do nikah else he’ll sign the court marriage papers.

More drama follows. We see typical nand bhawaj rivalry between Lubna and Durdana.

But they do get married.

Notice their expressions. Something tells me that this different is going to be a huge factor in their relationship.

Review

I couldn’t digest her reasons for choosing Mujji over whoever Hamza is. Geddit mujji is played by Hamza. If she’s painfully practical, her avatar in the court was the contrast and unbelievable. I don’t understand this character but then it’s just the first episode.

Notable Moments

Anwar: Barat aur janaze mein bas ek farq hota hai
Ishtiyaq: Murde ka
Anwar: Dhol ka

Answar: Main yaha se guzar raha thha

Deeju: haanji (when Bilal suggested ki izzat se rukhsar kardo.)

Performance

Let’s talk about the performance now.

“Main yaha se guzar raha thha,” line was hilarious. Timing was perfect.

Munazza’s portrayal of Lubna was awesome.

Hamza’s inner talk with his eyes and slight head movemnet in front of the magistrate was the best part of the episode. He can also be a Lahori munda, the first time I’m noticing his father Sohail Saheb’s influence on him and his Lahroi lineage.

Rest were okay.

Parting Thoughts

As I said before, I might not be able to watch regularly or review. But I’m trying, at least for a few episodes.
