Dil Wali Gali Mein | Episode 13

Have you heard the kahawat: aawey ka aawa hi bigda hua hai? Applies to Bilal family, no?

Kukki (some people spell her name as Cookie in the comments sextion, I think with Deeju and Dabboo, Kukki makes more sense than Cookie) is the worst, we’ve all accepted it but boy does she make my blood boil. I hated how the whole family blew things out of proportion when Mujtaba came to stay.

1. Tumhare Abba usko Ghar le kar aaye hain.

2. It’s temporary.

3. He can always sleep on the couch.

But this family has to ignore the obvious and show how toxic they are. Argh.

And this Kukki person has zero effs to give

 

 

And that chhatank bhar ka Dabboo taunts Mujtaba, to his face, for wearing the slippers. Tameez tehzeeb naam ki chiz kahna se aayegi when the mother keeps calling Durdana Chudail and Dayan? Seriously, I know this is only a drama with probably some redemption arc for all the shitty characters but Allah knows these people make me want to scratch their eyes right out.

Bilal says:

Chote dilon mein palne wale bacche kya janein ki mehman nawazi aur mezbani kya chis hoti hai.

Well said, chacha, but thodi tarbiyat bhi ki hoti dhang ki? What middle class family wears western clothes at home? Kaisi mix-n-match family hai yeh?

Okay, rants over.

I liked the opening scene, it was a bit funny that even Mujtaba himself couldn’t tolerate how he smelled.

And his look in oversized salwar kurta from Bilal.

 

Deeju is questioning why such things are happening to them, nice acting by Sajal to portray helplessness .

and then later, the two of them sit and discuss how they both have bad lucks. At least they aren’t arguing anymore.

I also liked the scene between Fayeza and Tamkenat. Fayeza, you slay, girl! I wonder if Tamkenat ever learned the lesson: “pehle tolo phir bolo”? I think not, bas thah se bol deti hai.

The episode ends ad Mujtaba meets the agent again. Hamza is willing to lower the rents and waive off the deposit altogether but Mujtaba ko achanak se akad aa gayi hai. Now pay more rent, mere bhai.
