Fairy Tale Episode 23 Written Update & Review

Hello readers, it’s me, Shabana Mukhtar, back again to give you a recap and review of the 23rd episode of “Fairytale”. And boy, this episode was full of drama and some hilarious moments.

Losing the monies

This episode was primarily about the fraud coming out. Ummeed has invested her money with someone, right? Now, they aren’t picking up the call. Yeah, that’s right. Ummeed realizes that she has been duped by the person she invested her money with. She can at least make a fuss about it. Zeenat has a double whammy. She has lost one lakh rupees but also can’t talk to anyone about it. Tch… Poor Zeenat…

Bromance continues

Ummeed calls Farjad to yell at him. Farjad being the nice man that he is, apologizes. But there is a limit of being nice, and Farjad is done being nice. He disconnects the call. I was like, wow! Let’s be honest. Ummeed needed that. Farjad has been too nice for his own good. Go, Farjad!

Later, Farjad and AK sit together having a heart-to-heart conversation and talk about Ummeed. This is the perfect opportunity for Farjad to give AK some advice. But of course, AK being AK, has a befitting reply ready.

Lafzon mein zaher kahan se laatey ho
Kya saanp fry karke khatey ho…

Oh, one of the romance trope is here

Ummeed comes to Farjad’s office to yell at the poor guy, again. Farjad doesn’t even listen to Ummeed because he has a meeting. While Ummeed is giving some choice words for Farjad, she gets into the elevator, Farjad is already in.

And then, the moment we’ve all been waiting for (or at least I have).

Ummeed and Farjad get stuck in the elevator together.

It’s a classic trope, but it never gets old. And let me tell you, these two do not disappoint. Their bickering and banter had me laughing out loud. At first, Ummeed doesn’t believe what she’s seeing, even casting spells to make the Farjad’s “ghost” disappear. The way she pokes Farjad’s arm to confirm if he’s there, and the way Farjad looks at her with “aye pagli ladki” expressions; it was a brilliantly done scene. Also, I liked how Farjad kinda slumps down in a corner when Ummeed asks him to sit down. It was almost as if he was trying to keep as much distance between them as possible; quite opposite to what we generally see in this trope.

This is so cliche and I have seen it a hundred times, but then, it doesn’t hurt to see it again. If you like the “stuck in the elevator” trope, you might also like this romance short story.

The cribbing duo gets out of the elevator quite fast (so unlike Turkish dramas where if the hero and heroine are stuck in the elevator, they are bound to almost-kiss). Ummeed runs into AK, again, in the parking lot. This time, AK seriously offers to help with the business. This time, Ummeed seriously considers AK’s offer.

My favourite character

But the real MVP of this episode was Asadullah Khan, or as we know him, AK. Ah, Asadullah Khan, OMG what a character you are.

AK is such a hilarious character, and his interactions with Ummeed are always entertaining. And when he offers to help with the business, you can see that Ummeed is seriously considering it. He is also super “dheet”

I also loved AK and Ummeed’s conversation outside the elevator. I’m impressed by Sara Majeed’s writing when it comes to witty reparte and banter.

Overall, I thought this episode was a great mix of drama and humor. The writing was witty and the acting was spot on. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

How did you guys find this episode?

Absolutely loved the elevator scene. Umeed calling Farjaad a churail, saying “bhaag yaha se,” casting spells to make him disappear, and Farjaad’s expressions throughout had me rolling with laughter. Farjaad’s look was like “what’s wrong with her?” Episode 23 was hilarious. And AK is always the star. His “kya sanp fry karkey khate ho” dialogue will remain my favorite for days to come.

    1. absolutely! Elevator scene was so great… and the way Ummeed asks him to sit down.. AK’s character itself will remain with us. Kya chun chun ke shayeri bolta hai…
