My Dear Cinderella Episode 1 Short Recap and Even Shorter Review
Why am I reviewing this? Cuz I watched the first episode and I didn’t want that time to go waste. I will probably also list down the reasons to not watch this drama. I know I’m not going to.
What I feel about this drama, is evident in the previous post: My Dear Cinderella | Cast and Characters. I’ll formally recap and review the episode now.
The episode opens with a dream sequence where a dulha (more like qurbani ka bakra). There’s dhol and tamasha and in-your-face Pakhtoon family. Gul Zarreen brings the bride, dulha ghoonghat uthhata hai aur khwaab toot jata hai.
The scene switches to the city where Sana, the heroine with painted nails (to my inexperienced eyes) wakes up to Fajr alarm. She makes noise enough to wake up the whole mohalla. Apparently, she’s getting married that day. She wants to keep a record of all her life events, much like most of the youngsters these days. Her aunts (or chachi, tayi? I wasn’t paying much attention). Gul is in-your-face Pakhtoon, Bitto is stereotypical Punjabi (Allah knows how Juggan hammed through every scene).
Zain, her na-honey-wala-shauhar, doesn’t seem too thrilled about the whole shaadi business.
Review
- Mahera Khan: Unpopular opinion, I can’t tolerate her face or her acting. She’s pretty, and I’m sure she acts well, but…
- Sehar Khan: I skip many dramas because of her. I don’t know why seeing her makes me want to run away from my mobile screen.
- Sehar Hashmi: She has the same expression, ALWAYS.
- Zara Peerzada: I rest my case.
Needless to say, won’t be watching the next episode.
