Dil Wali Gali Mein | Episode 14

It’s final. The Siddiqui family doesn’t know taa of tameez. Ma sha Allah sab ji bhar ke badtameez badtehzeeb hain. Tamkenat, Lubna, Khadeeja, Kukki aur woh do hath ka Dabboo. In last episode, he openly humiliated Mujtaba, then apologized for food (if that was for laughs, yikes). In this episode, he makes a deal with Deeju to rent his room at 2000 per day and throws their stuff out when he doesn’t get the money due to legit reason. Itte se ladke mein yeh baniya giri kahan se aayi? The bigger problem is Deeju who agrees. Yeh family toxic hai bhai, aur main yeh drama start karke pachhta rahi hoon, kaafii…

I may have said this earlier but there’s no harm in repeating, so here goes. Even if Kukki and Dabboo have a redemption arc, I’m not going to forgive them. Yeh umr aur yeh kartoot. They make my blood boil.

We see a very realistic, practical scene between Fayeza and Ishtiyaq, and then a very emotional one between Durdana and Ishtiyaq. Let’s face it, Ishtiyaq ko iss kahani mein Birbal bataya hai. Mas’la koi ho, woh koi na koi hal nikalega. Sher da puttar.

Now, let’s come to the tricky bit of this drama. I’ll list down the events first and then share my feelings and then you tell me if I’m wrong.

  • Haji Saheb yells at Mujtaba and demotes him.
  • Anwar tells him the reason Mujtaba is so upset.
  • Haji Saheb changes his mind and gives Mujtaba his target back: 100.
  • Mujtaba reaches 69.
  • Haji Saheb gives him the day off and also arranges for a VVIP honeymoon package for the newlyweds.
  • The couple gets ready. Deeju thinking that they are invited at Haji Saheb’s house. How did she not question the staying over part, is beyond me. Pakistan mein aise randomly kisi ke ghar ja ke theherna normal hai kya? We don’t even stay at a close relative’s house unless it’s a funeral or something.

Now, this sequence of events doesn’t give me a good vibe about Haji Saheb. He’s upto something.

They arrive at the hotel. Deeju doesn’t like it that they aren’t at Haji Saheb’s house. She doesn’t have a good feeling (just like last time). Either she’s too panicky or she really does have a sharp sixth sense. I may have problems with her until now, but she might be right this time. I was so curious that I even watched the teaser for the next episode. If that man was Haji Saheb, was he forcing them to do something? If it goes down that path, I don’t think I will watch this drama.
