Dil Wali Gali Mein | Episode 6

After leaving the police station, Khadeeja goes to her mother’s house. Lubna keeps saying: you broke the record and our expectations. I knew you wouldn’t stay there. What kinda  other does that? The way Khadeeja breaks down hugging her father, it broke my heart. Khadeeja may be wrong but she doesn’t deserve this, either.
The look on their face, it reminded me of a verse (yes, I can remember a verse or two, even though Urdu poetry was never my thing).
Arz kiya hai:
دونوں جہان تیری محبت میں ہار کے
وہ جا رہا ہے کوئی شبِ غم گزار کے
For those who don’t read Urdu:

Dono Jahan teri mohabbat mein haar ke

woh ja raha hai koi shab_e_ gham guzaar ke

I’m not going to explain it to you. Baqaul bazat-e-khud, Mohabbat ki tarah Shayeri bhi mehsoos ki jaati hai, samjhayi nahin jaati.

Have I said that I hate Kukki?

Mujtaba goes to stay the night at Anwar’s house. Poor chap!

In the last episode I had noted a moment when both are angry and seem regretful of their decision. In this episode, Khadeeja says just as much. It’s been 5 days since their marriage and she’s already regretting it. Love marriage ko idealize karne walo, dekho in dono ko aur sabaq seekho.

This isn’t your typical Ramzan drama, we all know that. I’m not saying that I wanted another feel-good drama by Saima Akram Chaudhary (Allah knows we have had enough of those) but we don’t want something so real, do we? Real life kam hai tension ke liye? Aren’t stories and dramas supposed to be escapism-laden and make us feel good, make us forget about our worries?

Parting Thoughts

Hamza Sohail has nailed this character. He’s been through so much but still goes to talk and apologize to her mother. I like him. There are bits and pieces about this drama that I like, and the rest of it is just meh. Since this drama is like my come-back project, I don’t want to bail on it, else I would have abandon it on episode 4.
