Qalb-e-Kayenat mein unki baat utar gayi

Mustafa jidhar gaye kayenat idhar gayi

That’s today’s mood.

So, the fourteenth episode of Hum Kahan Kay Sachhay Thay is here. It’s based on Umera Ahmed’s novel of the same title. If you’re interested in the novel’s plot. read  this post  for more details).

Hum Kahan Kay Sachhay Thay Episode 14 Written Update

Let’s see what the fourteenth episode brings to us.

We see Shabbo and Nano chatting about Mehreen and Saleha. For the first time, we see that Nano is also concerned about Mehreen. We see Shameem Hilali in a very brief yet touchy moment as she recalls Mehreen and Mashal.
Oh, and the opening scene has a continuity problem. Shabbo has wavy hair. Isn’t her hair curly?
Saleha and Rabeya are both worried about Mehreen’s married life, Rabeya more so than Saleha. Saleha is the perfect aunt as usual. She always puts Mehreen over Aswad. I think sometimes she is a bit much. I have never seen mothers NOT siding with their sons, just very unusual l, even to watch on screen.
Remember my questions about Aswad moving back to USA. Yes, Mehreen is so obedient that she wouldn’t go to the University because Aswad has prohibited her to step out. That’s so absurd. A girl who is so independent, she’s just blindly agreeing to a nut-case husband. Zulm sehna bhi ghalat hai, not expected from Mehreen.
The police comes to Saleha’s place to arrest Mehreen. Saleha is as worried and devastated as could be. We see her strong facade shattering a little.
Tahir is good, so good. He’s just a concerned father who wants to punish the people who are responsible for his daughter’s murder. Or is it suicide? The police knows that the sleeping pills were bought by Mashal herself. This is the first time Tahir learns about the pills. Now, the case is going in the direction that it might be a suicide and not a murder.

Performances

This is one of those rare times that I appreciate Mahira Khan’s acting. Good job there, especially when she calls Aswad yells at Mehreen. And in the scene where she hallucinates about Mashal and Mehreen.
Laila Wasti is gorgeous as usual. The screen just lights up when she’s in the frame. So pretty, so talented.
Even though this episode wasn’t as slow as before, nothing much has happened. This drama is dragging a little. The mystery fails to keep us interested. We know that the novel’s story is changed for its screen adaptation, but can we get to it faster?

Have you read the novel ? Or my review? What do you think of the story? I will meet you in another review.
