Introduction
Saima Akram Chudhry and Danish Nawaz–the writer and director duo who gave us gems like Chupke Chupke (I quite liked it) and Hum Tum (it was hit-n-miss). This duo now brings us another romantic comedy Kaala Doriya.
Kaala Doriya is story of two families who despise each other. The guy and the girl, especially can’t tolerate each other. When they fall in love, all hell breaks loose. Will they be able to cross the hurdles thrown their way by family or will they power through to come together as one? Watch Kaala Doriya to find out.

Khaled Anum as Ikhtiyar Ahmed aka Abba Ji
The patriarch of the family. He lives with elder son Shuja.
Just like Saifi Hassan, Khalid Anum is my absolute favourite and I like to see him on screen. He has such a pleasant personality.
Samina Ahmed as Tabassum Begum aka Bi Amma
The matriarch of the family. She loves with younger son Muneer.
A veteran especially for playing grandmotherly figures. Samina Aapa is a delight to watch

Older brother, father of two daughters

Mrs Shuja, Shuja’s wife, Nida and Mahnoor’s wife

Muneer’s younger son, plays guitar and aspires to be a musician. Look at him. He is so HD quality, no?
OKB is too stiff, but he did well in 2021’s Chupke Chupke.
Shehzad Noor as Faraz Muneer
Asfi’s older brother.
Sana Javed as Mahnoor Shuja
Shuja’s daughter who supports her father’s decision.
I’m not a Sana Javed fan, and I am pretty sure that she will ruin this rom-com.
- She has no comic timing. I have seen a few episodes of Heer Weds Romeo, or whatever it was.
- She is too stiff
- I would go so far as to say that she can’t even act well.
Nida Shuja
Shuja’s older daughter, married to cousin Faraz, mother of two. Her’s is a loving character, very sweet; she treats Asfi like her own son.
I didn’t get the name of this actor, but she looks a little bit like Dania Anwar.
Tamkenat Mansoor as Batool aka Bitto phupho
Shuja and Muneer’s unmarried sister. She has quite a mouth on her, and is already my favourite.
Apparently, she’s also a doctor. There was Dr Sarah Nadeem in Dobara, and now Dr Tamkenat Mansoor in Kaala Doriya. What is it about the drama industry that pulls these doctors in?
Khaled as Kabeer aka Kukku
Yet to make his appearance. I’m sure he will be phupha. He was engaged to Bitto but Tanno called off the engagement. Nida and Mahnoor’s mamu.
Saifi Hassan (Saifi bhaiiii) as Professor Hammad
A strict professor in the uni, teaches Asfi and Mahnoor.
He played Professor Jabar in Hum Tum and now this. It seems like he’s a favourite of Danish Nawaz as well 🙂

Asfand and Mahnoor’s friend. He seems to like Mahnoor
