Kaala Doriya | Episode 18

Introduction

Saima Akram Chaudhry and Danish Nawaz–the writer and director duo who gave us gems like Chupke Chupke (I quite liked it) and Hum Tum (it was hit-n-miss). This duo now brings us another romantic comedy Kaala Doriya.

Kaala Doriya is story of two families who despise each other. The guy and the girl, especially can’t tolerate each other. When they fall in love, all hell breaks loose. Will they be able to cross the hurdles thrown their way by family or will they power through to come together as one? Watch Kaala Doriya to find out.

Drama Kaala Doriya Episode 18 Written Update and Review

This episode starts with a scene A, scene B compilation as Mahnoor and Asfi get scolded respectively. Nicely written, and it reminded me of the genius that Saima Akram Chaudhary used to be (before she got too commercial and formulaic).

Tabassum Begum and Ikhtiyaar Ahmed finally put their foot down and give Asfi and Mahnoor a freehand to enjoy the wedding festivities.

Anywho, Asfi and Mahnoor talk yet again, this time to let Kukku and Bitto talk. This could be a sweet action on their part, but there are constant interruptions by Saleeqa and Tanno. Tanno is so savage, love her.

Asfi is at Mahnoor’s house to rehearse for dandiya. Asfi is full-on jealous of Gauhar whether it’s their dandiya pairing or Gauhar picking up Mahnoor from the parlour…

And then comes the funniest scene when Mahnoor and Nida are wearing a similar dress. Mahnoor becomes the evil Mahnoor again, I hated that part. Another funny scene was Saleeqa and Muneer’s conversation. Muneer’s monosyllable answers and Saleeqa’s questions were so funny. The dance sequence, Tanno’s enjoyment, Shuja’s reprimand to Tanno… It was all so perfect.

And then comes the turning point. Gauhar’s mother asks for Mahnoor’s hand in marriage. Mahnoor doesn’t like it, and Asfi is outright furious but it’s Bubbly’s reaction that shocked me the most.

Ab huyi hai kahani shuru…
