A thought provoking tale of resilience and defiance, against societal norms, to dream and dare. As the path of Meenu is burdened with challenges, emerging from her own family, she embarks on a courageous journey to defy the odds and pursue her ambitions for a greater cause. Undeterred by the barriers constructed by tradition, she rises as an emblem of change, inspiring not only herself but also countless other girls in her community to dream and strive for a brighter future.
Penned by acclaimed writer Mustafa Afridi and helmed by director Saife Hassan, this collaboration between Momina Duraid Productions and Kashf Foundation promises to deliver a gripping narrative. Set against the backdrop of a conservative community where opportunities for women are scarce, “Zard Patton Ka Bunn” follows the journey of our protagonist as she challenges the status quo and embarks on a quest for self-discovery.

Why So Late?
If you have noticed, I’m on a hiatus. I’ve cut down on my screentime, and video-watching time. I’m focussing more on reading physical books, and not consuming any content that doesn’t help me in some shape of form, which is another way of saying that I’m boycotting all telefilms, dramas etc.
A couple of weeks back, I saw Zard Patton Ka Bunn in suggested video, and it left me in a dilemma. If I were to come back from my hiatus, should it be this drama?
Hamza Sohail +1
Sajal Ali -1
What do I have against Sajal?
Nothing.
I’ve been her fan since her Gauhar-e-Nayab days (another drama that I have plans to review) but something has happened that just… How do I put it? I haven’t liked her ever since Ishq-e-Laa. She seems phoney to me, and a bit of a show-off. I shouldn’t have watched her interviews, I guess. I can’t enjoy her performance now that I know how she is as a person, NOT that I know her as a person; whatever little I have seen of her.
Forget it. You wouldn’t understand.
So, hiatus was threatened by this?
Not until today.
I saw that Saifi Hassan (Saifi bhaiiiii) is directing it, and it’s written by Mustafa Afridi (the killer duo behind Sang-e-Maah, and more that I am not recalling). So, I thought, what the heck. Let’s give it a chance. Nobody will force me to watch it if I don’t like it, right?
First Impression
Read my review of the first episode because I’ve noted my first impression in detail, no point repeating it here. It’s a good first impression, let me tell you that.
