Introduction

The story of #PyariMona revolves around the main lead Mona, an overachiever, strong and courageous girl who excels in everything she does but, being a plus-sized person, Mona has to face challenges, problems, provocations and taunts just because she doesn’t meet the conventional standards of beauty set by our society. The serial highlights body shamming, bullying, harassment and its social and mental implications on the victim in a society with unrealistic expectations from women and stringent standards of beauty. Pyari Mona is an unconventional and interesting story of Mona as she navigates through her life. Written by Haseeb Ahmed, directed by Ali Hassan and produced under the banner of Momina Duraid Productions, the serial also features Mashal Khan, Adnan Jafer, Muhammad Hunbal, Naureen Mumtaz, Uzma Baig, Shaheen Khan and others.

Pyari Mona Episode 17  Written Update and Review 

Most of this episode was about Z and Babar and their tumultuous relationship. Whether it’s just them sitting and eating breakfast, or Khalid causing several clients to break ties with Babar’s agency, Mona is always a part of their conversation. One reason or the other, Z keeps telling Babar that he should divorce Mona. Babar might be a moron but he doesn’t want to divorce Mona because of Ayan.

This discussion leads to a scuffle between them, which Babar resolves with a shopping spree and an outing. While at the restaurant, Babar goes to the washroom leaving his phone on the table. His phone rings, it’s a call from Mona. Z disconnects the call and deletes it from the call log. Why is she so insecure about Mona? I don’t understand.

The charade continues for way too long for my liking.

It ends when Babar sees Z’s old friend Adnan in the building. He questions Z, a bit too aggressively, and Z doesn’t like it. She gives a clear warning to Babar to deal with his own insecurities before questioning her.

Babar: You’re worse than Mona.

Z: Then go and live with her.

Shaista blames everything on Mona, still but thankfully Khalid is a pillar of support and strength for Mona. 

Irfan and Kinza are expecting. Being a good friend, Irfan comes to see Mona because she’s so upset about her marriage , a marriage which is on the verge of breaking. Back home, Kinza falls down the stairs. Is this the sad ending of Kinza and Irfan’s love story? We don’t know yet. We will have to find out.
