Assalamualaikum, my dear readers,
I hope this post finds you all in the best of health and wellbeing. This post marks the completion of the fifth roza, Alhamdulillah.
Today was enough to drive me crazy. I woke up late as usual (what else is new?) The first thing I did was to put a message in the office Whatsapp group: I would start late.
Then the phone rang. And I got to know that I have to go to tehsil office for registry (I am buying a plot). Now the catch here was that we had to reach the Tehsil office immediately, but we could not get up from the bed and just head out, right? I again sent a message in the office Whatsapp group: I will start work in the second half.
Long story short, instead of eleven o’clock we arrived at half past one, only two and a half hours late. We went there and waited. Our turn did not come, but then it was lunch time for the workers. Now, everyone went for lunch and we returned home.
Once again, I sent a message in the office Whatsapp group: Aaj Hum se na ho payega.
An hour later, the agent called. The tehsil is far from home, and my phone rang many times on the way. By the time we reached, our turn had come and gone. And it could only mean one thing.
More wait…
Argh!
It was scorching…
We were fasting…
The corridor was packed with people…
There was a dirty washroom right where we were deated, stinking up the place.
And we waited…
The only good thing in all this was that I had performed ablution while leaving the house. The target of the recitation was completed while sitting there.
And the second good thing is that the registry is done. It was five o’clock when we came home after taking Iftar goods from the market. It is not known how the time passed after that. It occurred to me that the whole month of Ramadan should be a holiday, no?
How was your day?
